The hotel location was incredibly convenient. The hotel itself was interesting in the lovely little gifts that it sold in the reception area. The staff were incredibly helpful.

The Hotel was located very close to the train station in a cute little street. It is very homey and comfortable and the staff was so nice and very helpful. We didn’t try the spa but I am sure it would have been great. Can not recommend highly enough.

One of the most beautiful places I have ever visited, I would come to Kamakura again and again. There is so much to see here and so many beautiful shrines. It has a much more relaxing pace away from the city and a really charming vibe. A perfect getaway.

Kamakura is an interesting small town with many temples and shrines and a beautiful museum of Buddhist treasures from the temples. In summer the beach is popular. Some of the streets have a resort-y feel. Definitely worth a few days.

There is so much to see in Kamakura and the surrounding area - temples and shrines, Enoshima, well marked hiking trails, the beach (which has a Californian vibe) and lots of lovely cafes in back streets. If you are lucky there are several places where you can get a view of Mt Fuji

a very relaxing town 1 hour from Tokyo on the yokohama side.
a very relaxing town 1 hour from Tokyo on the yokohama side. the hotel is on the right of the station and is in a very quiet cute walking street and if you turn left there is an amazing eat street with all the goodies that makes Japan so much fun to walk around.
it is a town that gives you space to rest , explore and do heaps of walks . there are great little shops to discover that is for the local market with amazing local produce.
The Hotel is such an azing find, so comfortable!

Kamakura is about a 90 minute train ride from Tokyo and has a very different vibe. It was the seat of government about 800 years ago and still has a few vestiges of that era (Tsurugaoka Hachiman Shrine, Great Bronze Buddha) together with a plethora of excellent restaurants, cafes and shops. If Kamakura gets too busy (which it can, especially on weekends and during the summer), there is always Kamakura beach within walking distance or a string of small beach communities nearby ranging from Zushi through Enoshima. Most are only a 3 - 20 minute ride on the Enoden Electric Railway, a vintage commuter railway worth riding just for the experience.
Unlike restaurants and tourist attractions, there are not a lot of accommodation options in Kamakura itself. If you have the time it might be worth seeing Kamakura in a day trip from Yokohama, which has a lot of hotel options and is only 30 minutes from Kamakura and under one hour from Tokyo.

A visit to Kamakura is what you make it.
A visit to Kamakura is what you make it. If you are here for a day and are in it for the selfies, search for "Top 10 Kamakura" and go to those places. If you want a calm, serene experience, even for a day trip, go anywhere except those places, particularly somewhere 15-minutes or more from a bus stop or Enoden station. Try out the short hiking trails North of the Giant Buddha or to the East of town. Take a morning or sunset walk on Zaimokuza Beach if it's not summer. There are a lot of quiet temples West of JR Kita-Kamakura and East of JR Kamakura and out toward Zushi. Pick one and maybe stop by another along the way: Your favorite temple may end up being the side stop! Don't feel pressured to "see everything": You can see what you didn't get to see the next time you visit. The temples aren't going anywhere. Kamakura is a walking town, but think of the walk as part of the experience. Consider stopping at a bakery or a cafe for an early lunch before the crowds arrive, then visit the temples when it's less busy.
History nerd? Try searching for "Kamakura" plus "yagura", "kiridoshi", or "oldest temple". Honestly, bypass "shrines", since this really is a "temple" town.
Other tips:
Kua Aina - best Hawaiian Hamburger in Japan
Inamuragasaki Onsen - stop by at sunset on a clear day and gaze at Mount Fuji.

Perfect! Staff were lovely, rooms were bigger than usual for Japan, very clean and the hotel itself is beautiful, wish I stayed for longer!
Location couldn’t have been better, so close to the station, family mart, 5 minutes away from tsurugaoka hachimangu shrine and a 20 minute walk from the beautiful beach, this was the best hotel I have stayed in during my time in Japan.
I will 100% be returning, Kamakura is a must visit place and you should definitely stay in this hotel.
Top location by the beach. The room has a beautiful ocean view from the big window. A short walk ftom the Enoden station (Hase) - easy walk to the Great Buddha, Hase Temple, etc. Just around the corner is a convenience store (Lawson).
The apartment is tastefully and beautifully decorated (with a mini Japanese garden on the balcony), and supplied with everything one could think of - various amenities, the kitchen, umbrellas, backpacks you can borrow, etc.
Small wooden guest house with 3 bedrooms, Japanese style, in the middle of a quite neighborhood, at 5 min walking distance from Enoden line Wadazuka stop and 15 min walking distance from JR station Kamakura. Host Bushi was very welcoming to us as guests, while actively supporting the community. Which allows for easy connection with selected local activities. Great breakfast freshly cooked by himself and served in the small lounge.
The host is awesome he knows the area very well and has amazing suggestions. The best host you could ever have. He saw that I was struggling learning Japanese and went out of his way to get a digital dictionary for me. Best place to stay in Kamakura. He has bikes available for rent surfboards available for rent backpackers Paradise. Anything you need to enjoy the area to its full potential is there.
