We stayed one night and drove to the Takachiho gorge in the morning, since we were traveling with small children we didn't use the fire burning but we still were able to cook with the gas cooktop and electric rice cooker, we also had heating from air conditioners in the rooms and the living room.

Lovely owner & assistant. Somewhat basic hostel accommodation. But good for visiting the local sites. The restaurants are limited so we used the 7/11 to grab easy eats.

Room is very clean and well equipped with towels, toiletries even toothbrushes. I also like that there is plenty of hangers and space to hang clothes. Space for luggage too. Fridge, kettle and coffee machine available for use. Free parking too! Convenient to visit Mt Aso and Takachiho Gorge from here.
