Kokoronodoka offers a hot spring bath and a hot tub, as well as air-conditioned accommodation in Kawazu, 37 km from Shuzen-ji Temple.

The best thing about this hotel is its owner and workers. They were really nice and helpful durint our stay. When we checked out it was raining quite heavily and we didnt have any umbrella on us, so they gave us 2 for free, and they also gave us a ride to Kawazu station. Even though they don’t speak very good english they are super nice. Its a beautiful small hotel on a small hill, the view is quite nice to the mountains and to the ocean as well. The hotel has two private onsens, which can be used basically whole day and night.

Retreat Guest House Surya - WOMEN's only - is situated in the Kawazu Onsen-kyo district of Kawazu, 35 km from Shuzen-ji Temple, 43 km from Mount Daruma and 44 km from Koibito Misaki Cape.

I had a fantastic experience at this guest house! The owner,Asami, was exceptionally kind and accommodating. Initially, I was concerned about the location being a bit far, but I found it very easy to walk to the guest house from the JR station. The guest house is ideally situated by the river, making it perfect for viewing the Kawazu cherry blossoms and enjoying the night sakura. It’s only a 5 - 10 minute walk to nearby onsen and delicious soba dinner options. I truly appreciate Asami's hospitality and would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area!

A recently renovated holiday home set in Kawazu, ハートリサイデェンス 河津 features a garden. This property offers access to a balcony, free private parking and free WiFi.

We will never forget our perfect stay here. This Heart Residence really has a place in our hearts. We had spacious rooms, a wonderful little onsen of our own. An outdoor (foot-)bath additional to the indoor bath. A awesomely equiped kitchen, a nice living room and comfy beds. We enjoyed the wonderful Kawazu Zakura, went Sightseeing to the Castle Ruins, were bathing in the ocean. It was soooo perfect! We hope to stay here again because these were the best days of our entire four-week journey! All the love for letting us stay here. :)

Kawazu is a place I visit every year because of the sakura festival. Of course this year the festival was officially cancelled, but other than the cancelation being on paper nothing changed - cherry trees still in bloom, food and omiyage stands everywhere, but many other stands with temperature checks. Kawazu offers quite a lot, being the location of a novel from a Nobel prize winning Japanese author, waterfalls, garden, hot springs and a calm atmosphere. And not far from Tokyo.

There are just a few activities to do in Kawazu. Visiting the waterfalls was fun and beautiful, and the beach was a great, relaxing spot. You have to take a train to get to other places and other locations, and they don't run very often. Important to plan your day carefully (and review all train/bus schedules) to maximize your daylight hours.

We were in Kawazu in September and rented a car to drive to beaches; Kawazu is a typical small Japanese town that is slowly dying out; most places are closed down or have weird opening hours; there aren't many restaurants around so if you're staying in a place like we did, that offers no food it can be tricky. I had gone to Kawazu once before, during the sakura festival held in February and it was more lively and there were more food options at the time; the sakura trees along the river were beautiful. It is the main attraction of the town!
