The room is big, onsen was cute, staffs are friendly even though they don’t really speak English (however a Chinese staff(or owener, not sure) passionately recommended us places to go, that was very kind.
Just be aware the location is better for people who drives.

The German forest theme is very nice and detail oriented interior design makes the hotel very comfortable and unique. Love the in room onsen which is fantastic.

While it's true that this facility probably hit its peak 30 years ago, the friendliness of the staff, incredible location and family friendly activities make up for the aged facilities. If you aren't expecting perfection you are going to love it here We were the only western foreigners and were treated with such kindness and patience from both guests and staff. The onsen was lovely, the kareoke room was a great treat and the breakfast was perfectly adequate. We truly enjoyed ourselves there and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting a down to earth onsen experience surrounded by incredible nature; trails right out the front door!
