As a Yuru Camp fan, one night near Lake Motosu or here at Koan is something you must do. Both dinner and breakfast were really good and a lot of food was provided. You can choose between JAP or AME breakfast. They have a lot of Yuru Camp merch, and got one room with a kotatsu attached to it, so the experience was awesome.
Get to Lake Motosuko stop, and make sure to take their offer to give you a ride as Koan is really far from the closest bus station. They were kind enough to offer shuttle service with their own car, to and from Koan

This is a very dated hotel in the middle of nowhere (close to Mt. Fuji, but nothing else nearby). We stayed in a huge room with 2 bedrooms so it was spacious, but very dated. Thereʻs a golf course nearby so it would be great for a group of golfers. We had the half-board option and the food was good, but not spectacular.

Boasting incredible views of Mt. Fuji and Lake Shoji, we were beyond grateful to have found the Yamadaya Hotel and to be staying there on such a remarkably clear day. The traditional Japanese rooms were a welcome change of pace from the Western-style hotels we had been staying at and, even though the hotel is certainly an older one, the facilities were well-maintained, comfortable, and had a true ring of authenticity. Those themes only continued during our kaiseki dinner and breakfast, which was prepared with incredible care and offered one of the most memorable meal experiences of our trip.
Accessing the onsen baths was straightforward and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience in both the private baths — which are available for reservation throughout the day — and the public baths — which are open from 3:00pm-10:00am overnight, so if the idea of a public bath is initimidating, late night is always an option.
We will forever remember our experience at the Yamadaya Hotel and are grateful to the owner and staff for their diligent work in making our stay as incredible as it was.
