Location of the hotel is great for anything you would like to do in Kyoto. You are close to the market and are within a mile or so of other main attractions in case you would like to walk or take a taxi. The train station (Sanjo) is also a very short walk away which makes getting to Uji or Fushimi Inari very easy as well. Would recommend this place.

Loved the vibe of the hotel itself -- the courtyard with the fire pits, the bar with welcome drinks. our room was one of the largest we stayed in in Japan with the separate sitting area and balcony. the breakfast was outstanding!! so glad we had it included, definitely one the best hotel breakfasts we have ever had. also liked the public baths to unwind. they were very accommodating about storing the bags we had delivered there, and stored our other bags before check in and after check out so we could explore without all the baggage. hope we get the chance to stay here again!
