Check in was really smooth with enthusiastic and respectful receptionist. I taught myself below n5 level basic japanese, but she made me feel like i spoke a higher level. The room was good for what i paid for.

Authentic Japanese hotel experience. Great views. Don’t come if don’t want to immerse yourself in Japanese culture. Friendly staff! Excellent Japanese dinner and breakfast. Excellent value as well. We walked to the Rock garden about 2 km away and it is magical.

Peaceful, Well-Located Mountain Retreat at Mount Mitake
We had a great stay at this mountain house near Mount Mitake. The location is excellent — just a short walk from the train station, which made getting there and exploring the area very easy.
The house itself is comfortable and well-equipped, with a cozy wood stove that we really enjoyed using in the evenings. The views from the property are beautiful, especially in the early morning and at sunset.
It’s quiet, clean, and surrounded by nature, but still very accessible. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing escape from the city with great access to hiking and the mountains.

The house itself is very well-restored and its fun to stay in an old home. The bath and shower area was huge--it fit our whole family so that was fun, kind of like an onsen after our day hiking! The location was easy for getting to Mitake-san by local bus or car and the river (walking distance) nearby was just lovely. The kitchen was well-equipped.
