Hotel Nikko Osaka is directly connected to Shinsaibashi Subway Station. It is centrally located within easy access to shopping areas, restaurants and the Dotonbori area.

The hotel staff are truly remarkable, friendly, quick to help, can speak English. Always smiling, always attending to every need. The hotel staff is what makes this hotel truly great. This is my 5th time to stay in Nikko Osaka.

Hotel Universal Port is a 4-minute walk from Universal Studios Japan and a 20-minute drive from Osaka Station. It offers 1 restaurants, and rooms with free WiFi.

Minions!!! If you love minions, this is the hotel for you. My family loves minions, so I had to book a room for our visit to Universal Studios Japan so that we could see more minions. Minions in the lobby. Minions in the elevator. Minions on a bench. Minions everywhere! Check in was a breeze. Setsuko Washio was truly an amazing guide for the hotel. She greeted us, helped with the check in process, gave us minion stickers and wrote us the sweetest note. Dropped off our bags and then headed to Universal Studios Japan for the day. When we got back, we were so surprised that not only were our bags in the room, but Setsuko Washio had handwritten a second note and left minion gifts for our family. This really made a happy day even happier. Thank you!! Location, location, location. Our room was walking distance to Universal Studios. So easy to get there and back and we could see the park from our comfy room. Loved the soaking tub after a long day at the theme park. The aquariums throughout are such a nice touch. Make sure to pick up a toothbrush, hairbrush or hand towel from the large bin in the lobby. Rico Rico for breakfast was great. Loved the traditional Japanese breakfast cuisine. It was a fish lover's dream. Tuna. Salmon. Salted cod roe. Mackerel. Sesame and seaweed. Sushi and sashimi. The veggie curry, salt fried chicken, savory Japanese pancakes, and noodles for breakfast were delicious options. The fresh squeezed orange juice and matcha tea were great ways to start the day. A special thanks to Setsuko Washio and her team of special minions for making our stay a very, very Happy Day!!

3 night stay. Good enough. Shower curtain smelled like a 1970’s Baseball locker room. Water drainage needs help in the shower. Other than that comfortable and convenient.

FAQs about hotels in Osaka

A Stronghold of Japanese Culture

At the meeting point of river and sea, huge Osaka combines forward-thinking development and sure-footed tradition. This is symbolised in its temple-like, 16th century castle, guarded by ramparts and enlivened by vibrant spring cherry blossom. Dominating the surrounding skyline is Osaka Business Park, a reminder of the city’s strong role in the Japanese economy.

However, the most striking skyscraper is the Umeda Sky Building - 2 towers connected by a rooftop terrace offering far-reaching views. The nearby Osaka and Umeda train stations are linked by underground shopping centres, while the shops of Shinsaibashi’s America Village appeal to a younger crowd. Dōtonbori’s neon lights promote more shops, as well as restaurants considered the best in Osaka. In a city touted as Japan’s culinary capital, that’s quite an accolade.

The Tsūtenkaku tower overlooks Tennōji Park, home of the Osaka Municipal Museum of Art. Another nearby park houses Shitennō-ji, one of Japan’s oldest Buddhist temples.

The Kyocera Dome Osaka is a shrine of baseball, and more thrills are at waterfront Universal Studios Japan, the country’s 2nd largest theme park. Also by the sea is Kansai International Airport, on its own artificial island.

The capsule hotel was invented in Osaka, and alongside this type of accommodation, Booking.com also offers luxury hotels with pools, cheap hostels and traditional ryokans.

Osaka was fun, lively and colorful and the food was incredible. We enjoyed walking through the markets and eating as much variety of delicious foods as possible. We also explored Osaka castle and the botanical garden - both very nice, and the aquarium, which is definitely worth seeing for the whale shark tank. We had an amazing seafood dinner at Ginya off of Hozenji Yokocho on the 2nd floor and a great teppanyaki experience at Dotonbori Teppan Steak Toyoshimake. Teppan Steak is also on the 2nd floor with a great view of the canal and our chef, who grew up in SoCal, spoke great English. Delicious food. We also enjoyed exploring the markets and eating fresh fruit, wagyu beef skewers, and takoyaki balls - so good!

Osaka is a nice place for enjoy Japanese Food, suggest going to proper restaurant other than street food especially Kuruman which is higher on price, worse service and Soso on taste。 You may stay in Osaka and travelling to Nara, Kobe even Kyoto as day tour。

Great city. Soooo much to do and see. Give yourself a destination, maybe find a small business you want to explore. Google it, then go find it by whatever means it takes. Ride the city bus, the train, subway whatever. You'll see stuff you wouldn't otherwise see and do. It's a wonderful way to discover new things. Every mode of transportation we used was both clean safe and always on time. If you get "lost" folks are more than happy to help you. They may even walk you three blocks or more to find a coffee shop. I had never been to Japan, but highly recommend it to anyone that likes to travel and try new things! We've been all over the world, Japan is right up there with the best of the best.

Osaka was a great city for shopping and dining out. It had everything Tokyo did but without the constant inevitable hoard of people. With the addition of the castle and Universal Studios, this also makes it a good destination for family's. The metro system is easy to use, and everything is cheaper compared to the UK.

The night-life was nice. I felt safe. I thought the aquarium was very nice and I would compare it to the Monterey Bay aquarium. I will say that Monterey Bay is much more open, but I really enjoyed how Osaka's aquarium was laid out. I think the fish and mammals were engaged in their environment. Castle was nice and the Cherry Blossom trees were starting to bloom.

It's mostly a city and quite spread out.

It's mostly a city and quite spread out. The concentration is in the Umeda and Namba where I hung out much of the time and there was a lot of tourists. One gets lost in the labyrinth of street shops in those areas, best you mark places you wish to return to on Google Maps, otherwise, you'd never find them again. You'd never go hungry and the combinis (7-11, Family Mart, Lawson, etc) are everywhere and they have everything all at once!

The location is perfect to access many parts of osaka. You can walk toward south and shinsaibashi suji will be there, keep walking further you see dotonburi and even further it will be namba. The room also includes kitchen facilites, I didn't use it though. The room size is spacious enough for two people, not small and narrow like average japanese hotel. Oh, this place is surrounded by restaurants, that can be a plus for your lazy day.

The hotel is simple but very well located in Dotonbori—you can easily walk around Osaka’s shopping and dining areas. The room was one of the smallest we saw in Japan, very tight, but the bed is comfortable and, at the end of the day, all you want is to arrive and rest. It’s also close to Namba Station, which makes it convenient for visiting nearby or even more distant places.

Cross Hotel is in the heart of Osaka, very close to the Dotonbori strip. The rooms are comfortable, but on the smaller side of all the hotels we had on our roundtrip in Japan. I believe the hotel is a bit too expensive for the value it provides. Overal, it is a good hotel with a decent breakfast buffet and can be recommended for a trip to Osaka due to its location.

Great hotel. I loved the mix of american and european charm it had despite being in Japan. It was spacious and beautiful, with awesome classical music playing in the lobby at all times. One of the best hotels I stayed in Japan. Great location within walking distance from dotonbori and everything you need in Osaka. Would definitely stay again, I was very impressed.

Location is just outside the action in Dotonbori and a few minutes walk away from Namba. Very convenient for us who are staying in Osaka only for a few days before flying out of Japan. Pretty good value as we booked last minute due to changes in travel plans. The hotel was also quite generous with personal care amenities
