Felt like a nice pleasant break from all the travelling around the country. Not far from some great hiking spots. Unwinding in the evening listening to some funky vinyls looking up at the hills. More than enough rooms and comfy beds too.

A perfect, restful stay ahead of our Magome to Tsumago walk the following morning. Our room was very comfortable and the complimentary miso/rice soup was just what we needed in the evening. We didn't use the spa facilities so can't comment on that but we did use the hotel's recommended porter service for our luggage which was seamless and meant our luggage was brought forward to our next stay in Fukushima. Would highly recommend this hotel for those exploring the area!

Private room. Towel x2 and bed wear. Noisy, i could hear paper towels being taken, taps turned on off, washing teeth, door opening closing for hours. The bathroom toilet was clean on arrival, then just got dirty. Room door doesn't close sealed, I had light coming into room all night bright. Corridor tight so you hear everyone walking backwards and forwards and I was in centre. Horrible. I was so disappointed as it was far from cheap. I spent less in town in the private room and bathroom. One shower, ladies, for all guests. Told a private one down the corridor. Dinner was for everyone in place directly opposite guesthouse. It was well done. I slept poorly as a consequence I left even before the breakfast I paid for. They are in the money game. Dorms, and the private rooms. Worst place I've stayed in Japan, and I've slept on Tatami mat all the way but never in a place with so limited showers for the number of people. I think there are better here. I'm posting in google Maps and will put other places.

We loved our stay in MOUNTAinn. Our group of 7 rented the entire house and loved the quirky atmosphere, cosy gathering spaces and great location.
