Perfect balance of efficiency and affordability. The people who designed this place knew what they were doing. The room has everything needed including a large desk. (Rare in my month here) The lighting is just right and the switches are in the right places. The heater is great. There are coat hooks and hangers (yay hooks) and there is a luggage stand. (No drawers for unpacking, though. That space went to the mini refrigerator and I would have made the same choice). There is an onsen downstairs, and the women's side has a door code to keep out unexpected visitors. Hanamizuki is right next to the train station and bus hub, with lots of restaurants. The castle and koi street are easy to walk to.

I loved everything. The host Takashi San has created an exceptional and unique place. The location overlooking the lake is beautiful. Takashi has designed HUB with a real eye for detail. This is an outstanding unique property if you like hot thermal spas. While I am not a fan of public bathing I found some hours when no one was there and I snuck in. What a luxury!!!! For next year I am getting suite with the private hot thermal spa so I don’t have to worry about the privacy. That having been said this place is six stars the service the food the Japanese ambiance and the entire experience is complete. I am an international traveler and I go to high end places only. This place was an amazing surprise in the middle of Unzen. I highly highly recommend it
