Perfectly central to all that you want to do. House was renovated recently and it was spotless and extremely comfortable. Location is very convenient. The landlady is a true sweetheart. She worried all night that I wouldn't find my way and came all the way to check on me. What a kindness that is!!

This was my second time at the Cross. My first experience was great ….this time it was not.The room given was not worth the high price . I booked two rooms for $367 dollars each per night! The view was horrible, small and I had previously requested a happy birthday note, that was not done until i reminded them at check in. I previously called and sent several emails to the hotel before we arrived. Not happy, not worth the high price.

We stayed here during our trip to Kyoto and unfortunately found it to be the least satisfactory of our accommodations in Japan. Our first room was small and not properly cleaned, with food residue on the tatami floor. We requested a better room and were offered a paid upgrade. The new room was more spacious and clean, but it lacked natural light due to exterior shutters, was consistently hot and dry despite adjusting the AC, and opening the window wasn’t an option due to loud street noise, even late at night. The location is very central, which is convenient but comes with significant noise. The laundry room had only two washers and dryers, and the dryers were inefficient, causing long wait times well into the night. While the hotel is nicely designed and might suit solo travelers or couples, it’s not ideal for families or those seeking comfort and quiet. In my opinion, it doesn’t offer good value for the price.

Very nice hotel across the street from the train station. The standard room with a king bed is small, but fine for a night. They only serve breakfast, but the train station has many dining choices.
