Everything was absolutely fantastic. The hosts are the kindest people. The food is made with such care. The produce is as fresh as it gets - it (literally) jumps off your plate. If you want to meet a different side of Japan, away from tourism and big cities, you’ll love it here.

Irago Resort & Convention Hotel is located on the beachfront in Tahara, 1.6 km from Iragomisaki Lighthouse and 2.4 km from Memorial of Yashinomi.

Large room with a sea view. A small balcony gave us a better view. Copious buffet breakfast and dinner. Background music was quiet and was not jazz, which is often a problem. Good onsen. Free shuttle from and to Toyohashi Station. Good value for money.

Unbelievable Views and beaches. Onsen is large but will need in the near future some smaller renovations. Family room was nice!

    As Americans, we were out of our comfort zone in this region...

    As Americans, we were out of our comfort zone in this region. People were very friendly, but we don’t speak Japanese, so interactions were difficult. Wanted to embrace nature, but local scenery was average. But to be fair, the dreary weather could have influenced our experience.

    The view is the outstanding attraction to this hotel, but watch out. Saying Ocean view is deceptive. Most rooms have an ocean view but there are two sides with a difference of day and night, Front view facing the inland sea is outstanding. Back view is view of an empty beach, not noteworthy. Make sure you get a room facing the inland sea. View is outstanding. Outside hot spring faces the inland sea and is again outstanding. Room was clean but small. The bathroom was similar to ones you would find in a business hotel. Bath located close to toilet. Staff was polite and friendly.
