Nice and clean. The host was very friendly and personable. The room was great, and the bed was very comfortable. The location is a bit in the middle of nowhere, but there is a restaurant right next door with cheap and tasty unagi don.

Highlights were the meals, the restored, high ceiling rooms, the compact Common Bath and the helpful staff (for baggage forwarding). Also the underfloor heating of the wooden floors means it's the best location for cold weather touring. Plus the central courtyard of the hotel looks up at the Takeda Castle Ruins which are lit at night. We fell in love with the house and the little town of Ikuno. The house was big and spacious for three people, also we enjoyed the kotatsu and the bathtub the most. The kitchen was also well equipped and the owner very responsive and friendly!
