We had a wonderful stay at Kumano.
Winery Guest House.
Giovanni and Yutaka looked after us very well during our stay.
Giovanni's cooking is amazing, and we felt very special staying with them.
I am coeliac, and Giovanni went out of his way to provide gluten-free meals for me during our stay.
I would recommend Kumano Winery Guest House to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in the Tanabe area.

A simple cabin with everything provided. Shino is helpful, and knowledgeable on Kumano Kodo trekking. She provide us insightful information, and it did help alot. Her café is located nearby bus stop which is very convenient for us to catch the bus right after the breakfast. Not forget to mention about the meal provided, yummy and delicious.
Shino also help us arrange for daily luggage transfer, and very responsive on any issues arising. Kudos to Shino.

There was a quaint cafe/sweet shop within walking distance that we fell in love with. They served amazing coffee in hand made cups and had the most delightful assortment of sweets and lollies - even Halloween sweets

Staff was able to provide information clearly and was fluent in English. He was also very kind to pick us up from the train station for free. He also provided suggestions for sight seeing and restaurants. Highly recommend the accommodation due to the service and facilities.

Tanabe was our starting point for our Kumano Kodo trek so we stayed in Tanabe only one day not realizing how much there is to do in Tanabe. If we ever come to Tanabe again, we will be sure to stay longer to enjoy all that there is to do there. I think we could have stayed a whole week if we weren't going on our trek.

The food was amazing! We had an excellent breakfast before walking the Kumono Kodo trail and the lunch bento box was delicious as well.
Nice smell of incense on arrival. The dining room was very cool with alot of American memorabilia. I love the saloon doors that lead to the bathroom.
Really close to kii tanabe and Isakyas as well.
this is the best hotel that I have stayed in on my trip through Japan so far the owner is a very interesting and lovely person and you can just feel how passionate these people are about their hotel the food was amazing and I enjoyed the onsen and view from my room's window a lot
Lovely family guesthouse set in a beautiful mountain setting. Sam was an exceptional host, picking us up from the train station in Tanabe and then dropping us the following morning to the start of the Kumano Kodo in Takijiri. Couldn't ask foe more.
