The communal kitchen and lounge was excellent. The rooms were beautifully styled and very comfortable. The staff were always friendly, gracious and accommodating. The locker was fantastic and was very close to the ski field.

The most aesthetic hotel I've stayed in. Old classic vibes without the smell that usually accompanies older buildings, and the bathrooms are well updated. Staff was very kind. I initially peeked into some of the communal rooms from the outside in the main hall out of curiosity. The staff turned on the lights and said I could go inside to look more closely.
The lounge was nice and had free drinks (alcoholic and a few non alcoholic).
The room itself was nice and spacious. The key was an interesting touch (old style metal key) and made me feel like I was in some game.

This was a great place to stay with every comfort and great attention to detail. It was very quiet and I slept very well. There is a general store across the road so it was easy to pick up snacks etc. also only 3 minutes from the main street where there are many cafes and restaurants. Thank you!

I love hot springs in the US and visit a lot of Japanese/Korean spas/hot springs in the US, so I was really excited to visit a traditional onsen town.
Kinosaki Onsen is traditional town. You can wear your (provided) yukatas and geta (wood shoes) into town an all around. It's cute.
There are many public onsens you can visit. I visited one, and was super underwhelmed. (The cave one.) My hotel had a much better one with more amenities, two hot pools, cold plunge and sauna.) And it was much better. If you are used to luxe hot springs in the US/elsewhere, the public baths might not live up to your expectation. That said, I am glad I went, I ended up spending more time in my hotel one (and even books a private Bali onsen slot) which was amazing.
I also really appreciated the ropeway tram up to the top and we walked down and looked at the hot springs temple and museum. Definitely glad we went for 2 days to experience it, but I would go experience other onsens on future Japan trips.

Loved the beauty, the people of the town were sooo sweet.
Loved the beauty, the people of the town were sooo sweet. One helped me adjust my yakuta and many were helpful to make my first Onsen experience great.
The town has a siesta in the afternoon. Some restaurants and stores close early

Kinosaki Onsen is a lovely little onsen town.
Kinosaki Onsen is a lovely little onsen town. I was there from 6pm and spent the night onsen hopping. Went to 5 out of 6 as one of them was closed for that day. One onsen was 700yen but I bought the day pass for 1500yen which allowed me to visit all of them. There were lovely izakayas for dinner. (5 hours is definitely not enough for dinner and visiting 5 onsens. Do note that although onsens close at 11pm, the last entry is 10.30pm).
The next morning, I walked around the town again, and got a different feel of the place. The night view was lovely and the morning walk was delightful too. Be sure to wander in the back alleys. I surrendipitously found Gokuraku Temple with a beautiful garden and seeing school children walk leisurely to school beside the canal lined with lanterns and old houses was a heart-warming experience.
I wish I had given myself more time at Kinosaki Onsen. I only had 16 hours which was way too short.

The town is really cute with lots of great shops and the onsen at the hotel was super relaxing. There were a lot of children at the public onsen so we decided to skip most of them and felt the one night we stayed was enough

Kinosaki Onsen is such a charming town.
Kinosaki Onsen is such a charming town. After spending a week running around cities like Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka, it was nice to unwind in a small town that was very self-contained but also had some nice outdoor activities like exploring Mt. Daishi, in addition to the 7 public baths.

1. Good position and affordable price; this hotel is near Toyooka station (less than 10 minutes walk) and you can take 30-minute train to KINOSAKI or other near-by spots and here it has much fewer tourists.
2. Cozy bed and pillows; coin laundry
3. Friendly servers; the day I stayed were all female servers that made me feel safe to stay here
We had a great time and enjoyed every bit of this traditional Japanese hotel. Dinner and breakfast were amazing, the staff - very welcoming. The hotel also has nice private and shared onsens, which I'd recommend. Really hope to visit again!
Good breakfast with crab miso , and built in onsen which is free for hotel guests ! Very peaceful hotel/ plus they provide yukatas, wooden slipers and special bags for you to fully enjoy onsen !
The hotel is beautiful. Very modern and clean with great social areas and free coffee and soup. The snack selection is great too and lots of good restaurants around
