A few minutes walk from Tsu Station and my room fronted the Miekenokoku Shrine. It was great to wake up on new year's day to witness shrine activities. This hotel can be a good base to visit attractions in Ise. The room is very clean. The pillows, bed, and linen are comfortable and smelled clean. I have always liked the layout of Toyoko Inn rooms.
Staff were quite helpful pre-checkin (I left my bag), and facilitated the checkin process.
Breakfast spread is quite good.

Guest review
The staff and location of the hotel, it very close to the main train station of the city
Tsu is actually my 2nd least favourite city in Japan.
Tsu is actually my 2nd least favourite city in Japan. I was only staying there because it was the only place I could get a hotel for my trip in the Ise area. Despite not being a huge city, it is quite unfriendly to pedestrians and there's honestly not too much to enjoy in the city as a tourist.
The busses do work really well and are unlikely to get stuck in traffic because of how unnecessarily wide (4 lanes) the main road is.
Trains in Mie in general are a little difficult to understand as a tourist (even as one that speaks and reads Japanese quite well) so you need to be careful when relying on Google Maps and you're probably best off just going to a MAIN station (like Tsu Station) and making your decision when you get there.
The Yuki Shrine that I went to years ago was nice and there's a decent art museum if you like that kind of thing, but neither of these things are terribly unique.
I have however had the best burger of my life in this city (at a place called Both Rich) and the hotels I have stayed in this city have been good and good value for money too.
