It’s an oasis in the chaos of Lamu Town. Very friendly and helpful staff. The pool is a luxury in the heat. Great menu

Location was great. Restaurant friendly, and the food was tasty. I loved the old Lamu building style, and having a balcony overlooking the busy waterfront. The room was airy and cool with plenty of space. It was nice to have daybed on the veranda. The courtyard pool is very attractive and the vegetation lovely.

Friendly staff who are welcoming and attentive to guests' needs. The Swahili breakfast gives a taste of Lamu/Shela, and the location close to the beach was ideal for a getaway. We didn't use the pool, but it was one of the reasons that drew us to the place, in case there was a day where outside conditions weren't the best to go out to sea. We stayed in one room that had a great view of the sea in the distance, and the buildings in the village too. The next room we stayed in had a view of other buildings - great for people watching but not so much for sea views. The rooms were well serviced upon request.
Situated just 10 metres from the Lamu beachfront, Shella white house features a restaurant and a rooftop veranda with panoramic views of the Indian Ocean.

The location is perfect. I would definitely stay again and as a solo traveller it’s perfect because you have the opportunity to meet other travellers/people staying there - I made a lovely friend at breakfast that made my trip so much more enjoyable! The outside terrace with the day beds and fans is just brilliant. The perfect place to nap or lounge around/read. Everything was very clean and the staff (Tom & Benson) were lovely and made me a delicious spanish omelette and fresh fruits and fruit juice/tea/coffee in the mornings! Great value for money. I would stay again.

The pool provided good relief from the heat. The triple rooms are spacious. They contacted me the day before to ask if I needed an airport transfer, then arranged the transfer. The coffee and juices for breakfast are good.

Amazing place. We were treated like we were at home from the beginning. Since it was just us in the building, we were upgraded to the big suite. Delicious breakfast too.

The host Martin is an amazing host. He showed us all the good spots in lamu old town. When something was wrong with the appartement he had it fixed or had someone come in seconds. The view from the balcony is stunning. Really recommend!
