Pool was well serviced by the staff. I was on a breakfast only program so paid for drinks and food. Prices were reasonable, service was great. I did not have the lunch or breakfast buffet but did eat at the seafood restaurant and pizza/Italian restaurant. The seafood place I did not go back as it was mediocre the pizza was good and a great location. Rooms met my expectations.

From the moment I entered I was well received. The staff was so polite and friendly. As a solo traveler, I was mindful to research any reviews on social media about the hotel and the location. That's where I first saw Sylvia, on IG. I was SO impressed with her professional representation of Hotel Sapphire. She is just as passionate about guest relations in person as well. Seeing her smiling and familiar face instantly made me feel like home. Some honorable mentions include Fahad. What a gentleman. He has a warm and welcoming spirit that has made a lasting impression. I can't forget to mention Ms. Yvonne who is actually a new hire and in training. She was a wonderful hostess and attendant to my meal experience. A VERY sweet and friendly young woman who is a great addition to the Sapphire team. "King Arthur" and the other bartenders were fun and full of character. They kept me laughing. The room was comfortable and clean, with a nice view of the city. The food was AMAZING! The drinks are strong, no watering down lol. It's an affordable, SAFE, place to stay for a solo trip. Thank you Sapphire Gems for making my FIRST trip to Kenya and Mombasa a memorable one. I hope to be back in the not too distant future.

Very cool place, quite old school city and poorly keep, but is Africa so i totally understand, depend what u look for could be perfect place, to me it was
The only thing if we compare to other parts of the world more well developed is not cheap , it should cost nothing in Africa but is not , is much more expensive than Thailand example, and Thailand is 50 years in front compare Kenya, even compare most of Europe actually
So the cost of Kenya don't match the quality of what u get, if compared to other places

The beaches are awesome over there. If you want to experience the best beaches in kenya please visit mombasa. From there you can visit most of the beaches. Diani beach is great bit you can visit othere good beaches as well like watamu and malindi. If you are vegetarian you will find it hard to find a place to eat good food.

The hotel was such a disappointment, all furniture was rotten to the point we’re in the middle of the nite the fridge fell cause it was resting on rotten wood, taps were all so old that their was no pressure of water from the washbasin, the air con was in the wrong place right over our beds which meant we got ill afterwards and couldn’t wait to get out of this hotel. We have been in a cheaper hotel in Nairobi and even that had better facilities and breakfast was nice and included, even that worked out cheaper than this place. Mombasa is not the place to visit anymore as nothing good is left, everything is distorted.

It is such a beautiful city, full of fun, people are supportive and honest, with a lot of adventurous places, I just felt four days were not enough for me to have it all. The ocean views from the different corners, the cheap things in supermarkets, life is just sweet in Mombasa.

Beautiful old city , very rich culture ,amazing coastal cuisines please try some Shawarma around the old town side, beautiful architectural designs though the buildings could use some paint 😂. Has beautiful gems to explore like Mama Ngina drive very family friendly , the ferry ⛴ and even the fort Jesus pierr where people can chill out and enjoy the ocean view and breeze on the evenings for free. Accessible supermarkets ,good transportation , really hot but bearable. If you go there without a plan of coming back you might just stay 😅.

The staff were exceptional! Very kind and the best service we’ve had in Kenya. Stella, Benjamin and Peter are so attentive and helped ensure we have the best time possible in Mombasa. The kitchen staff you very helpful and knowledgeable. We were greeted with cool face clothes upon our arrival which was a treat after a long travel day. Wifi was consistent and able to make a video call. Have already recommended to a friend who will be passing through.
Great location by the beach. Nice pool. Water quality outstanding.
After my long list of valid critique on initial poor service, complicated check in and numerous issues with a poorly maintained room I was offered an alternative upgraded room. Thereafter staff, the F&B manager were very attentive.
Poolside staff were excellent in managing several drunken German all inclusive guests which continued for days. Great job by the hotel staff.
The hotel is well accessible to many areas including the CBD,airport and going to the beach areas. The room size was big and spacious with a very beautiful creek view 😍. The hotel staffs are really amazing and friendly. The housekeeping staff incharge of cleaning my room Hassan, the guy did a very good job and cheers.
Locality, centrally located.
Walking distance to heritage places in city center like Fort Jesus, Mombasa Tusks, Markets and old town.
All local public transports passing infront of the hotel.
Surrounded by restaurants and supermarkets
Located in the heart of Mombasa's old town, this hotel offers great ocean views and a relaxing atmosphere. The food was good, the hosts were friendly, and the room was comfortable.
