Its a nice town bustling with activity and its proximity to other amenities such as clubs, many nice restaurants, supermarkets, shops is very nice. Nice little town, modern and friendly and with a huge options of small hotels and lodges, many not listed on this platform, like the beautiful non-expensive oasis in the center, Hibiscus lodge.
The town is full of night life and the beach is nice and different from many other Kenyan locations.

Its mostly dirt roads full of pot-holes that fill up with water when it rains. It is very crowded but has lots of options for transportation, shopping, banks, services, nightclubs, restaurants, bars. The local people are very poor and some of them are very friendly. The weather in June was cool, but rainy. Most things are inexpensive.

Accessibility is a key feature for many travelers and in Mtwapa you are relatively close to everything including the Mtwapa police station. The views of the creek are amazing and there are tons of activities to do including boat riding, wind surfing, clubbing and visiting local tourist attractions like jumba la mtwana.
