Wonderful Resort located in a remote location on the island. Great for a good honest rest.
The staff is super friendly, and there are ferries running to anywhere you’d like in the island, we got picked up straight from the resort to go diving.
Only downside is the included breakfast which is a bit limited.
Set on Saracen Bay in Koh Rong Samloem Island, Pearl Beach Resort & Spa offers accommodations with an infinity pool and a sunken bar just right in front of the beach.

What a gem of a resort! Has everything you could possibly need and is located on a true piece of sand and ocean water paradise! The water is crystal clear offering breathtaking shades of green and blue. The resort staff … led by wonderfully friendly and helpful Nai Sok who is almost always at Front Desk … go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable and have any special needs taken care of. The cleanest outdoor pool I’ve ever swam in provides a relaxing alternative to the ocean itself - a best of both worlds scenario for sure! We loved the whole pool area which provides various shade and sun options to relax, connect to strong WIFI and sip drinks and/or enjoy yummy food from the resto while staring out at the beautiful ocean water just three steps and a jump away! The resto itself offers a solid selection of Asian and Western cuisine in a relaxing setting. Rooms provide all one needs for full comfort - the comfy queen bed, large flat screen TV and awesome ultra modern shower were thoroughly enjoyed during our 1 week stay in paradise!

I've stayed in a lot of cheap hostels around the world. This is one of the worst ones.
The good reviews, I can only imagine, are from people who lacked the ability to differentiate between the beauty of Koh Rong Samloem and Saracen Bay and the below average conditions of The Big Easy.
It's dirty. I don't expect immaculate cleanliness. My house is kinda messy. The Big Easy is DIRTY. There's mold in the rooms and bathrooms. Dirt and dust (and sand - which is a bit more forgivable) everywhere. Things are falling apart (holes in the walls and ceilings, the hinge on my locker was completely disconnected). There were two bathrooms/showers in the 8-person dorm. The lock on one was broken, making it useless.
Some bunks have a shelf, which is good. Others don't, which is bad. Pay $2 and put up a shelf so people can put their phones on it to charge and don't have to put their toothbrush on the floor in the moldy locker. Plus, because they are so shoddily made, many locks won't fit the latch.
Only about 6 beach chairs. My dorm had 8 bunks. There are multiple rooms. You see the problem.
Some of the staff are foreign volunteers (there are also paid foreigners) - this, of course, takes paid jobs away from locals. One night there was a party until 2AM or so. Beyond making a lot of noise, it was the foreign staff that were up late making a huge mess (empty beer cans and bottles, cigarette butts, trash) and the Cambodians who woke up early to clean it up.
Finally, there was a mix up and they thought that I didn't pay for one of my meals that I ate there. Like I would dine and dash at the place that I was staying makes any sense. Staff was decidedly not friendly after that - which was their mistake. Even without this incident, if I were to come back to Saracen Bay, I'd not stay in this hostel.
The restaurant was fine. Good, even. Though, I have some concerns about the cleanliness of the kitchen after seeing the rooms.
Located in Koh Rong Sanloem, Sunny Bungalow offers cozy bungalows, 16 mi or within an hour ferry ride from Sihanoukville. Guests can enjoy drinks at the on-site bar near the beach.

We stayed here for seven nights and it was a great place to stay for a low price on Saracen Beach. The bungalows are your classic basic bungalow, no air con or other extras, but you have a fan and a mosquito net over the bed. We were asked every two days if we wanted the bungalow cleaned and the sheets/ towels changed, so no problems there. The two fellows that run the place are super friendly and helpful. The fellow that runs the bar is also a nice friendly guy and pours a good beer for a good price.
Wifi is available in the restaurant and most of the time available in the bungalow.
I hadn’t read anything about the food before I got there, but the lunch sandwiches were huge and tasty and in the evening, the Kymer dishes were delicious!
The bungalow is located right by the Eden Pier so you don’t have far to walk if you get off the boat at that pier.
Lazy Bones has a garden, shared lounge, a terrace and bar in Koh Rong Sanloem. The property has evening entertainment and free WiFi. At the hostel, each room comes with a patio with a garden view.

I loved Paradise Villas on Saracen beach it was the quiet end of the beach. The swimming and relaxing were amazing. The staff and guests are friendly the food great, lots of other restaurants to walk to. You can walk to other beaches or take a boat trip. Very relaxing if you want to get away from it all. The beaches were kept clean and the water was clear lots of fish to see if snorkelling. It's not a party destination. If it's a simple beach holiday you want this is a great destination after rushing around the rest of Cambodia.

Most people here love lying on the beach, and they are everywhere. Instead, I love hiking and there are trails to all of the beaches. Some easy, some challenging. Laguna Resort even has a trail guide if you aren't sure which trail to go on, or if you are worried about getting lost.

I stayed at Mpai Bay, so this review is based on a four night’s stay there with one excursion and independent exploring.
Overall, it’s a beautiful island and well worth staying. There’s good snorkelling and swimming all over the island (mostly when taken to prime spots on a boat tour).
The restaurants serve a variety of lovely dishes at bargain prices and excursions are really good value.
On the downside, there is a lot of rubbish about when you leave the popular areas (discarded and rubbish that has been washed ashore). Sadly, this seems to be the case all over the country.

There are no roads linking the whole island.
There are no roads linking the whole island. If staying in Mpay bay and want to visit other beach or village then a taxi boat at $5/per person each way is needed. $20/couple per day. Saracen beach has roads linking it to Lazy beach and Sunset beach and the Lighthouse. If time permits maybe stay 3 nights Saracen / Sunset Beach, 1 or 2 nights Mpay bay and 3 or 4 nights on Koh Rong island.

Very relaxing place. Beautiful beach.
Very relaxing place. Beautiful beach. Great and friendly restaurants/pubs, always welcoming. Downfall was the rubbish that was brought in by the sea but left on the beach. Infront of all resorts and restaurants no rubbish as they were obviously cleaned up by workers, but the walk from resort to restaurants there is a section that you have to walk through rubbish.

There is a vast range of accommodation from basic guest houses to luxury resorts. There is great food to match. The beaches on the ocean side of the island are beautiful (Lazy Beach, Sunset Beach). There are signs of roads being developed so it is a good idea to visit before too much development takes place. Most travel is by boat or jungle treking! We also enjoyed snorkelling.

So glad we got to stay here on our trip to Koh Rong Samloem, from the moment we arrived we were very well looked after. There is no phone signal on the island but their WiFi is quite good.
The pool was so lovely to relax next too, with the beach just a few steps away you could go between both.
All the staff were so lovely and friendly. Food was great there are a few other places outside the resort which offer similar style food for a slightly cheaper price.
If you are looking to get away and disconnect this is the place for you.
Our private room at Onederz Hostel was very clean, with a comfy bed. A/C and hot water 24hrs a day. The hostel had an amazing atmosphere with lots of entertainment such as a pool table, football table etc and even had a fire show with a live DJ one night. Food/drink was very reasonably priced, with a BBQ on every night till late. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend staying at this hostel, even if you want a more chilled out time on Koh Rong Sanloem.
Paradise Villas is the perfect place to chill in Koh Rong Samloem.
Nin,the owner and all the other staff were extremely kind, helpfull and smilly. There are all here to make you at ease and help you whenever you need.
The bungalows are beautiful and in front of the beach.
The restaurant is amazing. Nice food, drink and the music playlist is very cool.
