Beautiful, calm, authentic family run hotel. We loved our cottages and all the quaint touches. Service was great, food very tasty and it was a perfect spot to explore Nevis from!

Mount Nevis Hotel features an outdoor swimming pool, fitness centre, a garden and terrace in Nevis. With free WiFi, this 4-star hotel offers room service and a concierge service.

Glorious heavenly setting, amazing views to St Kitts. Lots of nature around- monkeys, hummingbirds. Very quiet and peaceful. We sometimes had the pool area to ourselves which was a treat. Food in the restaurant was excellent but it was often very quiet when we were there so lacking in atmosphere and almost felt a bit awkward for keeping the staff there! Desserts are particularly delicious though. Restaurant staff very friendly and obliging, especially Erika and the young guy whose name we have forgotten due to jet lag (sorry!). Rooms are pleasant and very clean. We had problems with broken hairdryers and air conditioning which was a little frustrating, spending our honeymoon reporting things, but they did get resolved very quickly. The power to our room seemed a little dubious, cutting out at times and my hair straighteners wouldn't work (I've never had this problem before). We struggled to use the TV as didn't have the right log ins (as we're British) or subscriptions. We didn't want to watch much TV but it was a little frustrating not to be able to put local TV on. It's definitely worth having a car as the hotel is situated a little far from most sights. Car hire is cheap and driving is easy. Derecka on reception arranged this and several taxis for us which was great. It really is a beautiful and peaceful setting.

This luxurious resort is set in a 60-acre former sugar plantation at the foot of Nevis Peak. It features an Open Spa with massage and body treatments, a tennis court and a private beach.

Location was inland away from the coast for which you need taxi or your own hire car. Taxis are plentiful and easy to order. There are also cheap buses running around the island’s roads. The hotel runs its own minibus to its own beach which has good beach facilities. Food at the hotel was good with beach bbqs in the itinerary. There is a thoughtful touch of an amuse bouche with one’s pre dinner drinks. The afternoon tea with scones is also a thoughtful and welcome addition. The owner is often seen around the estate and is very engaging with clients. The pool is large and supplied with plentiful loungers.

Situated right on Oualie Beach, this family-run resort offers lush gardens and charming rooms set in Caribbean-style cottages.

This is a beautiful, local gem. If you want the big resort experience this is not for you. If you want to be steps from the beach, to meet the people of Nevis and experience an island that is not touristy, then this is for you.

    Nevis is perfect!

Nevis is perfect! It is also relatively unknown, part of the reason that it is perfect. No cruise ships, no direct flights, no all-inclusive, no buffet dining. In other words, a certain type of less adventurous tourist does not go here. Many fabulous restaurants, with menu's from all over the world. 1st rate scuba dining. Multiple types of beaches, from the remote, wild and windy with crashing surf to the sedate, lounge chair, drinks and lunch being served variety.

Nevis Island is a little odd for a Caribbean Island.

Nevis Island is a little odd for a Caribbean Island. It has very few beaches and the sand is medium brown and coarse because it is volcanic. The water at the beach isn't the super clear Caribbean Blue that I expected for a Caribbean Island. There also isn't much entertainment activities on the island except for the beach. The local people I met were great. They are very gracious and generous and pleasant to meet and converse with. If you want to get away from it all Nevis is a great choice. If you want a vacation with a lot of action Nevis is probably the wrong choice.
