The staff was very fast working and helpful. Usually in Sri-Lanka people are working slow. The beds are comfortable. We arrived at 03:00 morning and departed 12:00, so they allowed us to stay extra hour for free. It was vary nice, because we were very tired. The breakfast is nice, they make a nice omlet western style, there is a choice what you can eat. Overall, i recommend to others to stay at the hotel .

I liked the clean water room with a great view, the attentive staff and their flexibility in letting me check in early and check out late.
I really like the buffet and a little small touches like a fruit basket.

Exceptional value and great location! The staff were excellent and very accommodating and so friendly - with a free late check out (2pm). Rooms were clean and love the fact they are actively working to reduce the use of single plastics. Will defo be coming back for my next trip to Colombo!

Half a day in Colombo is enough for sightseeing.
The Red Mosque's visiting hours are around 1:30 PM on Saturdays and Sundays.
Also, the Lotus Tower's elevator fee seems quite expensive, and it's not worth it.
One negative point is that at some tourist spots, there are people who try to take you around for sightseeing. Be careful and don't trust them, as they might ask for a lot of money later, even though they initially say they don't want anything and just want to accompany you.
The area near Galle Face is nice for a relaxed evening stroll if you have some free time.

Colombo is a vibrant well located city on the coast with some very good restaurants (Gini and Gallery Cafe) and shops (Paradise road and Urban Island). It is perhaps a little spread out for sightseeing on foot.

Colombo is a busy capital city and, from that point of view, is what was expected. I am not a great 'city' fan, preferring rural tranquility. However, Colombo definitely has places worth seeing.

Colombo is just a nondescript chaotic polluted South Asian city. Skip it and go directly from airport to the other truly special destinations in Sri Lanka. At the end of your holiday, get a car and driver to drop you directly at the airport. The expressway actually goes to the airport, bypassing Colombo!

Colombo can be overwhelming at first.
Colombo can be overwhelming at first. As a recommendation to women, don’t wear vests & shorts in the sun as this draws unnecessary attention, plus also frowned upon by the women, who are all stylishly dressed in the designer shopping malls.
It is not really a walkable city, as it’s spread out. A tuk tuk tour is essential. I used uber to short trips, which worked well or Pay Me is a popular app.
For late afternoon/ sundowners, get a tuk tuk over to Belle Vue Beach Club, amazing chilled vibes, comfy beach furniture to watch the sunset and lovely pan-Asian food and good service. It’s a hidden gem. Ps: Everyone expects a tip!

Big bustling city, you can have a cup of tea in the posh hotel, just walk in.
The markets are amazing and very extensive.
The big museum is very good but the natural history one is pretty bad.
There are bats the size of hens in the big park at dusk.

We just loved staying here. This was our best pick in Sri Lanka. The rooftop pool is breath-taking, the rooms are nice and quiet, very clean and comfortable. The host left really good teas and the room has filtered water to drink next to the sink. It felt super-safe staying here, because of 24/7 security of the building, and the hst let us extend our stay here for a later check-out. Will come back to stay here, when in Colombo next time.
Location was great nice places to eat opposite hotel. Room was clean, bed comfortable and bathroom newly renovated with good water pressure.
Good little gym on site. Would recommend a room with balcony as it was nice to sit out and watch people below. Liked the rooms were serviced and free filtered water provided.
Good airport transfer at a reasonable price.
Great place to start Sri Lanka holiday.
This is hands down the best hotel I've ever been to and I'm a frequent world traveller. Considering that I paid the same amount for an airbnb in Dorset last month, this is insanely good value. I tried another hotel in Colombo previously, and I'm so lucky I was curious to book this one for my second stay. Luxury on steroids.
