An interesting little town full of things to see and do. Good boutiques, restaurants and bars. Galle is an old fortress town on the coast.
Galle is an old fortress town on the coast. The historical architecture is well preserved - you can walk all the way around the town on the walls. Many of the old buildings in the town still exist and are in use. You can also sit on the fortress wall and watch the cricket. So overall great atmosphere. The Galle fort area has good choice of shops and restaurants and there are many kinds of foods available like pizza and burgers. We enjoyed eating more salads and stir fries dishes. There are a number of beaches you can visit along the coastline - some are recommended for surfing, others for swimming etc. It is easy to get around .
