Our host is exceotional, he was very helpful with all the issues and had a deep knowledge about the area and further from all the country! He helped also to prepare takeaway breakfast which was excellent for early morning hikes. Highly recommended!

The most amazing view from this property, the best view we’ve had after 3 weeks in Sri Lanka. Nice balcony area to sit and relax.
The owners were amazing and super friendly.
Food was great.

The architecture is modern. The place lacked character and soul. Pool was nice but the weather was too cold to enjoy it. Bed was comfortable and large. Bathroom smelled of humidity.

Sewery/moldy smell in the top floor rooms of the Villa. No cleaning service on the second day because they forgot. No hot or warm water in the shower on the second day. After complaining they told us that they fix it but never did. Comparable to other properties in Sri Lanka they do not burn incense against mosquitos.
The only good thing was the food and the chef and the restaurant service.

The views were amazing!
I spent a month at the Bel View Guest House home stay.
I took the extra option of dinners there. The breakfasts were included in the price.
Great for someone looking for a quiet retreat to relax, that is not hot like the coastal areas.
The hosts will gladly help to refer you to places depending on what you like.
A must visit place in Haputale id the Adisham Bungalow. It is a very old, well manicured, rock monastery at the top of a mountain.
It is run by the St. Benedict monks. They have a little shop that sells the juices, marmalade and jams that they sell there. None of the products have any additives or chemicals and the tastiness shows that.

Haputale is a small, sleepy Sri Lankan town - as opposed to a tourist town - in a beautiful hill country setting. It is much quieter and much cheaper to stay in than the tourist hot-spots of Nuwara Eliya or Ella, with a range of locally-run guesthouses, rooms and restaurants. The sleepy train station connects it with Colombo, Kandy and Ella, buses pass through and tuk-tuks can take you to nearby waterfalls or the iconic Lipton's Seat from which the stroll down through tea fields is stunning. There are several Olives restaurants in Haputale - Viewpoint was our favourite both for food and a stunning view. If you want a party then avoid Haputale as you'd be bored.

The trip to Lipton's seat takes about 5 hours round trip but is amazing...much better experience than the tour book suggested. An absolute delight was the opportunity to have tea and excellent snacks while in c the clouds at the peak...for an amazingly low price.
Views from our balcony were spectacular and the food - both dinner and breakfast - was top notch

Haputale is no substitute for Ella it's an extra stop.
Haputale is no substitute for Ella it's an extra stop. Haputale has fabulous views right in town and from your lodge, but there is a draught of travellers hang out cafés, while in Ella, you got to hike for the views, the town is packed with cafés and restaurants that makes you want to stay longer. Lodges in Haputale doesn't seem to put people together for shared transport to Horton plains anymore. Almost nobody is going there. I got a very good deal on transport there, but bailed in the gate and went back, due to extortionate entrance fees that added up to $49 for 1 person! - for a 3h hike!!!! - Lipton seat is well worth it though. Go early in the day before the clouds are covering it. The ride up takes you through beautiful tea plantations as well.

It's a lovely and unique area for trekking and hiking.
It's a lovely and unique area for trekking and hiking. The weather is wonderful, it's a place where the weather changes 6 times a day. Beautiful.
Bambarakanda Falls, Diyaluma Falls, Upper Diyaluma, Haputale Mountain, Lipton's Seat, and Horton Plains are nearby places. Adhisham's Bungalow is another unique experience to see the wildlife in night.

Our stay at the Mystik was wonderful. The most notable thing was the cleanliness and comfort of the beds along with the best views you can find in Haputale. They picked us up at the train stop completely free of charge. The owner is a wonderful person and helps you with everything you need. He even invited us to tea and coffee for free. I recommend it 100%.
The best part of this hotel is definitely the view! The room was big and comfy. The staff is very attentive, helpful and kind. The location may look a bit funny at first, but it's not far from the train station and the staff is very helpful with ordering tuktuks. They also organized us a tuktuk for Lipton's Seat.
From the moment we arrived to the time we left, our stay at Dream Cliff was absolutely blissful. The hotel is beautiful, the food fantastic and the staff always go above and beyond. One of the best hotels I've ever stayed at and an absolute gem - if you're looking for a bit of heaven, please stay here!
Everything was perfect. The kindness of the owners, the beautiful view of the room, the amazing food, the best we had since our arrival in Sri Lanka. I highly recommand this hotel. Haputale is magnificient!
I stayed there for two night and could have stayed fro a month the location is incredible sorrounded by nature everywhere and with the best view of haputale to say good
