The manager was so lovely. But the bed sheets had multiple stains and bugs crawling over them just before I went to sleep. I woke up 3 times to huge mosquitos that kept biting me. Additionally, the bathroom was very wet when I entered and wasn’t the cleanest.
Overall, it was cheap so I didn’t expect much but the reviews made this place seem much cleaner than it is. Maybe I just came at a busy time…
The views are amazing and the manager is accomodating so with some more cleaning, this place has great potential :).

We stayed at Butterfly Mountain for two nights. The hosts were four ladies who were lovely and helpful, and they gave us some great advice. The rooms were pretty basic, but they had everything we needed. The only problems were that they were a bit damp (but that's a general problem due to the climate), and the view of the lake and Adams Peak from the split terrace was amazing. We ate dinner there as well, as there aren't really any other restaurants in the area. The food was delicious and plentiful, but a little more expensive than we were used to in Sri Lanka (but maybe that's the price you pay for the location).

I had an amazing stay at Heaven Hills Guest House! The location is perfect, just a short distance from Maskeliya city centre, which makes it easy to enjoy the city's attractions while being in a peaceful and serene environment. The rooms are Basic but incredibly clean and well maintained, with plenty of space to relax. The hot water in the bathroom has great pressure, which was a nice touch.
The Owner 'Namal' was absolutely fantastic-very friendly, helpful, and always available to assist with anything. He arranged everything perfectly and provided extraordinary support whenever necessary. The place is quiet and calm, and the mountain and tea field view from the property is simply stunning. After Adams peak hiking we did the gartmore falls tour with owner's Brother 'Tharaka' which was incredible experience, They also offer Dinner and breakfast, which was delicious.
I highly recommend Heaven Hills Guest House, and I’m already looking forward to my next visit. It’s a great place to stay with top-notch service!

Great hosts and sweet family. Beautiful location and amazing breakfast and dinner. The host is great at giving recommendations about activities and places to see around Maskaliya, as well as how to get there. Laundry can be done as well, can’t recommend it enough.

The staff went above and beyond to make us welcome and to accommodate our needs both requested (e.g. kindly helping me put on a saree for a wedding) and unprompted (e.g. having lunch for us ready when we missed the breakfast cutoff time after climbing Adam’s Peak). We didn’t get to try all the experiences offered but thoroughly enjoyed the massage and cooking class. Special thanks to Vithu for looking out for us, but every staff member from housekeeping, restaurant and reception have made our experience at Argyle and Hatton memorable. Highly recommended.
