Offering a year-round outdoor swimming pool and views of the sea, Amanta Beach is set in Nilaveli, 12 mi from Trincomalee. Each air-conditioned room offers a view. Rooms have a private bathroom.

Despite the non stopping rain for days and days, our stay in Amanta Beach was just perfect. Everything is as shown on the photos and written in the description and actually there is much more. Slightly out of the village, just right on the private beach, with a huge garden and a cute swimming pool, you will be offered very tasty breakfasts and dinners.. The rooms and the private gardens have everything you may need. And those stylish decorations! I need to mention also the very lovely staff who make you feel very welcome and still manage to give you the privacy you want in such a place. It is not the cheapest, but absolutely worth the value.

Wonderful property with beautiful landscaping and its own extremely inviting beach area with loungers, shade, swings, tables etc. You can roll out of bed, walk a few steps and watch the sun rise. There js good AC and hot water and a yummy generous breakfast -- ask for the pancakes with chocolate or kithul (palm) syrup. Friendly, laid back but attentive service.

    Nilaveli is the perfect beach if you want peace and quiet , not many shops or facilities about, a few ok restaurants near by some expensive for Sri Lanka even more pricey than England, would need to travel 15km by local Tuk Tuk to find a good choice in Trincomalee-Nilaveli-Pulmodai which around 2000 rupees each way

    Very soft golden sand. Sea was not rough during our stay. Snorkeling trips are arranged by guides to nearby Pigeon Island. Pristine corrals and species. May be less restaurants along the beach, and not much of public facilities like toilets and wheelchair access etc

    Nilaveli has a lot to offer.

    Nilaveli has a lot to offer. The lower part of the beach closer to Trincomalee is very much like Bali or Goa with lots of accommodation including budget friendly options. It has many small cafes and restaurants right on the beach. There are also many dive shops offering diving experiences at Pigeon Island just off the coast. The upper end of the beach is more secluded and has fewer beach cafes and bars. This is where the larger more upmarket Nilaveli Beach Hotel is located.

    We couldn't find consistently good restaurants. Some were really good and the staff were amazing. Seafood king restaurant was great. Some restaurants the staff put us off. Beach and the sea were good but not amazing. Different vibe to the southern coast of Sri Lanka. I personally prefer the southern coast. We visited the pigeon island, which was so nice. But there were no toilets in the island which is harmful to the island and the marine life around it. Snorkeling was great.

    Not too crowded like other beach spots in Sri Lanka. A good place to just relax on the beach. The beach is super clean. Great place to watch the sunrise. Good spot for any avid divers as well as there are some amazing dive spots all around with several diving centres to choose from.

    This is a hidden gem, easily screened out if you were looking for 4 star plus. This place is a paradise if you are looking for a relaxing vacation and get trained in Scuba and get certification. Diving school at the edge of this property has all the gear you can rent for the day or you can bring your own. Instructors are experienced in local reefs and diving hot spots. Best food here is Sri Lankan food and fresh off the boat seafood. If you don't like spicy food, choices may be limited. My daughters, one of whom was a Vegan had plenty of choices.

    Cardamon is a nice hotel in beautiful Nilaveli, right on the beach. The rooms are spacious and clean with great views from the balcony. The staff are incredibly kind and welcoming, always polite and paying attention to detail to ensure we had a comfortable stay. The pool is kept really clean and perfect for relaxing whilst listening to the waves on the beautiful beach. We would highly recommend this hotel and hope to visit again in the future!

    A lovely hotel with a big garden and swimming pool in Nilaveli right by the beach. Breakfast was amazing and different each day (we went for local options). The staff were very friendly and accommodation (Thank you especially to Prashanth). We stayed in the chalet room which was closer to the pool and had a nice terrace.

    The NN Beach Resort & Spa is a great hotel, located right on the beach. We had such a great stay that we decided to stay longer and enjoyed the calm and relaxation. The complex is very well maintained. The rooms were also clean and tidy. The staff and the manager are very friendly and ensure a pleasant atmosphere.
