Really nice hotel, smart rooms and bathrooms, although the rain shower attachment in my sons' bathroom didn't work but the handheld was working, and extremely powerful apparently! The breakfast was one of the best we've had - American style and the hash brown (yes only one) was to die for. The hotel was in a great location for going to the beach and trying out some surfing. It felt like a surfers' paradise with a chilled atmosphere. Wished we'd had an extra day here at least.

The pillows were amazing! The location was fabulous- right next to the beach. They'd thought of those little things that make a stay easy and comfortable - orange lighting next to the beds, a water filter machine outside with bottles to refill in the room, sarongs you could take with you, lovely toiletries... I would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay again.

We were returning to Villa Hiriketiya after staying previously 6 years ago. After reading some mixed recent reviews we were a little apprehensive about our stay. However we enjoyed a great 6 days. It’s true the accommodation is looking a little tired probably due to the fact it’s being knocked down soon so they don’t want to fix the short term problems. But the staff were super friendly and helpful. We didn’t suffer any power cuts as others have mentioned when we were there and the location is unbeatable for Hiriketiya. Right in the centre, yet quiet at night. With a beautiful garden, pool and less than 5minutes walk to the beach for less than £60 a night you can’t expect much more!

The staff were welcoming on arrival. The room had the most basic facilities needed, including an electric power shower. The location is on the sea front, convenient for the beach.

The hotel is truly beautiful! We had a fantastic cabin overlooking the ocean with a private outdoor bathroom. The location is incredibly beautiful; it reminded us of the Maldives. Being the last hotel in the row also meant there were hardly any tourists around, and we had the whole beach to ourselves. The service was always friendly and helpful! The food and cocktails were also very good. Be aware that you can't really swim there because the waves are very high. But it's a wonderful place to cool off. Everything was perfect, and we would have loved to stay longer.

The team were friendly and were very responsive to messages (over WhatsApp). The gardener was lovely and brought a big inflatable for us to use in the pool The Cactus seafood restaurant just opposite (3min walk) is fantastic, don't pause over whether to get the mixed seafood platter - absolutely a must have and the portion is huge, order for 2 could feed 3 adults.
