The entrance & reception was lovely. Bedroom room was fine, bathroom was really rough. Dinner chicken fried rice was

This is a beautiful hotel located 10 minute drive from Yala National Park. The rooms are modern, beautifully decorated and immaculately clean. There is also a smart tv which was handy to have when it was raining heavily outside. The food was so delicious - we loved every meal we had. The pool area is so clean and well kept - we enjoyed some margaritas whilst relaxing in the sun. Highly recommend this hotel. The staff were super attentive and kind. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

A wonderful place to stay. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to a beach chalet but as stated you can’t see it. However the room was huge and great facilities - they have thought of everything. The food here is spectacular with a massive choice to cater for all tastes.
Lovely swimming pool and viewing area over the lake to watch the local wildlife. You can’t swim in the sea here as dangerous. The staff go above and beyond. Most people staying here are off on safaris so the hotel doesn’t feel full.
Yes it maybe costly but a bit of luxury is definitely worth it. Highly recommend this hotel.

We had an unforgettable experience in Yakaduru. Kirula was more than welcoming and went above and beyond to make us feel at home. Response prior to our arrival was speedy, we booked the safari tour with Yakaduru and they had everything covered by the time we got there. We also had the pool villa and we were not disappointed. The staff included an evening walk followed by a traditional dance performance at dinner.
One memorable moment was spotting a rat snake on our roof at night - which was not surprising given that we were in the jungle. However, the staff quickly reassured us that it is harmless and emphasized their 24/7 availability should we need any assistance. To top off our experience, we were given a thoughtful parting gift, which was a lovely gesture that made our departure bittersweet. Thank you Kirula and the Yakaduru team!

As a South African, I wasn’t sure what to expect from a safari experience in Sri Lanka, but Mahoora-Yala by Eco Team exceeded all expectations in the most delightful way. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by an exceptional team of hosts who were attentive, informative, and genuinely passionate about creating a memorable experience.
Our guide led us on an immersive journey through the local wilderness, where we explored the diverse flora and fauna of the region. It was fascinating to learn about the unique plant life, listen to the calls of unfamiliar bird species, and encounter endemic wildlife in its natural habitat. Beyond the safari itself, witnessing the rural landscapes and daily life of the local communities added a deeply enriching cultural dimension to our visit.
The accommodations were a perfect blend of comfort and adventure—true "glamping" at its finest. Our tent was well-equipped with everything we needed, from a plush bed to a refreshing shower, ensuring a seamless balance between luxury and the raw beauty of nature.
The journey from the southern coast was undoubtedly worthwhile; stepping away from the beaches and surf life to embrace the serenity of the wilderness was a rewarding and unforgettable experience. Mahoora-Yala is more than just a safari—it’s an invitation to connect with nature in an intimate and meaningful way.

too many jeeps roaming around. 50% of the time we were searching for animals. at some occasions long long jams of jeeps trying to observe leopards and bears
the park is beutiful but
* jeeps number should be limited
* we didnt see a leopard, saw elephants only once, saw a bear briefly only once - for 6 hours in the park we were disappointed

We visited Yala for two days (with two separate game drives - one evening and one morning one) and although we enjoyed the animals we observed, we did not have any sightings of leopards despite being the national park with the highest concentration in the world. But that is nature so we were just unlucky on those days. However, the most disappointing aspect of Yala was the sheer number of vehicles allowed into the park at one time. As soon as elephants or leopards are sighted, drivers communicate among themselves and vehicles all rush to the scene creating a massive traffic jams. This makes it feel very mass market and doesn’t seem very respectful of the wildlife

Terrible time. No wild animals as expected.
Terrible time. No wild animals as expected. Roads are all around the jungle which is pretty disturbing to the wild life. After all it is supposed to be a protected zone for wild life. Jeeps are crawling every corner of the territory. Amused to see all of that disturbing scenes in a wild life protected zone. It's like business zone. Poor animals.

I loved Yala.
I loved Yala. The number of different animals seen was slightly disappointing but apparently wash outs due to rain prevented us from accessing some internal roads. The sunrise and scenery were stunning. I would rate it as good value despite the lack of animals. The whole experience was wonderful.

The national park in Yala is beautiful however it is hard to drive around as the roads are poorly maintained. There is a large populatin of birds and i think this safari would suit bird watchers more than those who want to see the elephants. The 6am -6pm safari is too long.
Sigiriya is far superior when it comes to large herds of elephants.

The hike in the nature reserve was amazing, we saw lots of amazing animals and landscapes.
Were lucky and we were able to meet the tiger as well.
It is important to note that the trip should take drinks and food, the hotel staff where we were did not tell us the length of the trip and did not make sure to let us know that we should take care of ourselves.
Of course we were smarter and brought with us the necessary equipment ..
But there were those next to us who did not and that was unfortunate

Have never seen alive trees inside room. Had feeling that I live in camping but with all modern appliances and city comfort. Very friendly and helpful stuff and manager, who made our stay more comfortable than we expected! Recommend to get complimentary round trip first to see places around. Take a walk to sand dunes on sunset, visit Kirinda beach and town and ask to rent Yala safari from hotel only!
The hotel has a very nice location close to Yala Natural Park. The rooms are very clean and the bed is very confy. The whole hotel has a very nice decoration and they also arrange safari tours to the yala. Overall we are very pleased with our stay in the hotel.
Clean rooms with necessary amenities in a convenient location to visit Yala National Park. The staff was very hospitable and helpful. We could arrange a safari via the hotel. The food we ordered from the ala carte menu was tasty and was having good portion size.
Lovely spot in Yala, staff are very attentive and nice, happy to help with everything.
Tents are very comfortable. Safari was fun, although unfortunately we did not see a leopard, we did see many other animals and birds.
