Chez Amaliya was established 20 years ago by a retired Dutch woman, who continue to run a very efficient hotel with a staff of 11. We spent three comfortable days there, walking Tafraout and visiting area sights. Excellent meals. Highly recommended.
With a 24-hour front desk, this hotel is a 4-minute drive from the center of Tafraout. It offers air conditioning, a garden and a terrace with tables and chairs.

Beautiful setting
Lovely garden, including the tortoises!
Easy to find and easy parking.
The pool looked so tempting but it was a cold night so we didn’t use it.
Lots of roof terraces that were easy to access.
Dinner (which we chose rather than looking in the town) and breakfast were very good.
Bed was comfortable and the room was a good temperature. (There is a unit for heating and/or air conditioning)
Excellent location for the Painted Rocks.
Featuring a terrace, Hotel Salama STE SAL- AMA SUD SARL AU is set in Tafraout and also provides a shared lounge and on-site dining.

Stunning location on top of a hill in an olive grove, with commanding views of the Lions Head and the entire range in the Ameln Valley. You are completely at one with nature with walks through the palmerie a five minute walk away and Tafroute and all its shops and supplies only a five minute drive away. Lots of space with two ample bedrooms and three living rooms. Sunrise and sunsets from the upstairs terrace are breathtaking. Just an Incredible value with a super responsive host and high speed WiFi to boot. We recommend it as highly as we can.

Great little town where you can stock up on food, souvenirs and get petrol. Locals are super friendly and laid back and things that we bought at the market were definitely cheaper than we found in Taroudant.
Hiking must be awesome but we didn't have enough time.
In a rental car its super easy to get around.

You will have to drive 250km from Agadir on winding roads and dirt paths to get there. With very few tourists, lovely small restaurants Places of interes are ,Les Roches Bleues. These “Blue Rocks” are undoubtedly one of Tafraoute’s most iconic symbols. Painted in 1984 by Belgian artist Jean Verame. La Tete du Lion. This rock formation, which translates into English as “The Lion’s Head”, is located on top of a boulder on the Tafraoute Valley Mountain. Ait Mansour Gorge. Thirty kilometers from Tafraoute, the incredible Ait Mansour Gorge is located in the heart of the Anti-Atlas Mountains and is considered one of Morocco’s finest oases.

We ate at the restaurant La Kasbah which was wonderful and very good value. There are hikes, bouldering, climbing, and cycling opportunities all around. There is a wonderful shop run by Ali with all kinds of natural products - we bought Amlou, Argan oil (edible) and three different types of honey (cactus, carob, orange)

The terrace on the roof is amazing, we also had a fully equipped kitchen so we could make tea, the bathroom was appropriate, the beds were comfortable. The view from our room was also picturesque. The host, Jamal was born for this job, he knows everything there is to know about Tafraout amd the surrounding area. He’s very helpful with every issue you may have.
Friendly stay on the foot of the Tafraoute mountains, one of the prettiest villages during sunset and sunrise. There's a nice terrace where you can eat breakfast and dinner while watching the scenery. You can order a home-cooked dinner from a large menu, I highly recommend trying Rfissa, I also had kefta tangine and pastilla which were good too.
Location, location, location! We found this the most beautiful area of Morocco (Tafraout) and the views from the Kasbah are amazing. There is a kind of good vibe when you have your breakfast near the pool. The owner Liesbeth is a book full of stories and will help you with whatever questions.
Excellent value, good central location in the town close to shops and restaurants. We had no trouble parking in the square outside the hotel. Chambermaid was friendly helpful.
