Garni Hotel Tianis is a gem in a gem of a city, Kotor. The accommodations are fabulous, updated, upscale, and spacious. The staff are kind and helpful.
It's a very short walk to Old Town, which is excellent. That is because Old Town, with all of its charm, can get very crowded, and loud with bars playing music and people gathering outside at all hours and late at night -- which is itself a wonderful social environment but can make it difficult to get peace and quiet, especially for sleep! Garni Hotel Tianis, being just outside the Old Town's walls, is nice and restful.
The breakfast is delicious and varied, with a wide selection of fresh foods. All in all, you will enjoy staying here.

We really love Kotor, no wonder it became Europe’s capital of culture at some point years ago. The mountains and the bay reminded me of Interlaken but Kotor doesn’t break the bank (if that makes sense).
Would love to go back and stay longer.

Pleasant but not super special old town.
Pleasant but not super special old town. In the cooler shoulder season mid week it feels very drab, it was more engaging on the weekend with more people. Lovely setting on the Bay of Kotor, good walks above the town and along the water. The national sport of being rude to and / or overcharging tourists is well in evidence, of course with some friendly locals as well.

This was a winter visit- Kotor in February is lovely. Apparently, summer brings huge crowds and cruise ships- so pick your time or year and preferred experience. Plenty of restaurants open even in Feb., and the walk up to the Fort just has to be better as a cool-weather experience!
Try taking the city bus over to Tivat- spectacular bus ride.
Also theer is a sky way just outside town which would be worth trying (I ran out of time)!
In summer, Kotor would NOT be my sort of place- but others might like the atmosphere

Beautiful bay, not too busy this time of year but I would imagine during summer it’s heaving, take a speedboat tour out into the bay to the small islands. Then there is the old walled town which is fantastically in original condition, the mountains are around you everywhere.
Kotor is truly a beautiful place.

I absolutely loved Kotor with its scenery, the back drop from my apartment was out of this world.
I stayed for 3 whole days just outside the old town in Dobrota but wish I had more time to explore mount Lovcen’s national park.

Central position in the old town renovated stone building no parking on the site but at the nearby parking 5 min away but along the cobblestone streets, we knew that. 2 restaurants right at te exit from the hotel, very close to all the small shops and restaurants. Breakfast (2 hot drinks, 2 juices, one meal) is served at another restaurant on the main square, 5 min walk, but it would be better that its near the hotel.
Located in old town, one minute from Northgate. About 12 minutes walk to the busstation
Quiet room (not very big but okay)
Bathroom relatively big
Good price /quality for Kotor standards (relatively expensive compared to rest of Montenegro)
The apartment was new, warm and clean. Location ideal to discover the old town. The owners left a bottle of montenegro wine which was a nice surprise and went down well. The owners were lovely to deal with.
It was walking distance to the old town. A perfect base to explore Montenegro.
The place was cozy and clean.
The owners communication and updates were exemplary.
The hotel is close to Old Town and has amenities that you can enjoy. It'a a great place to just chill amd enjoy the holiday.Everyone is friendly and helpful.
