Small hotel with individual charm and character. Ideal location in Birgu which we much preferred to busy Valletta. Ferry, restaurants and cafes on the doorstep. Friendly and helpful staff. Loved the rooftop and the wonderful views. Highly recommended.

Located in Birgu, 1.4 km from Rinella Bay Beach and 3.4 km from Hal Saflieni Hypogeum, Sea View 34 offers a terrace and air conditioning.

The apartment is ideally located, with two great balconies, one overlooking the harbour, with fantastic views, literally just steps away from sights, restaurants and the ferry to Valletta. There is even an elevator to the living room. It was spacious, and had everything we needed, bed was also really comfortable. Easy check in and our host was really flexible with check out. Overall, we had a great time and would definitely recommend staying here.

Situated in Birgu, the recently renovated Seagull Birgu Seaview Cabin features accommodation 1.3 km from Rinella Bay Beach and 4 km from Hal Saflieni Hypogeum.

We arrived early in Birgu and after agreeing to be able to drop off our bags we found the apartment and key, but had trouble getting in. even a passerby couldn’t open the door. The apartment was looking at the harbour wall and on entry it is clean and tidy. There is NO window looking out and quite narrow, so you’re like In a longish cellar. We walked in and was put out by the loo next to the bed?? The photos are misleading and angled so you dont see how close it is, there is no barrier between, and if someone (male)goes to the loo in the night you get woken up by the sound of someone peeing. The bed mattress needs replacing as you roll together and the pillows are lumpy and uncomfortable. Showering next morning if you are larger than 12 stone you’ll find it hard to move it’s really tight my husband is over 6ft and 16 stone to get into the cubicle, even I had trouble getting in and I’m 5ft. There’s a big damp patch near the door. So don’t put your bags near it. Outside: there’s no room or furniture to sit outside and photos shown are from someone else’s apartment upstairs. We looked around for somewhere else to stay but it was going to cost another £300 and nearest place was at Paul’s bay. We asked if there was another apartment but the host said I’ll get back to you… he didn’t bother. Birgu is a lovely area and the people really friendly

Birgu is very sweet, there is major work going on in the main square, but its almost over, and it will look great once its finished, the town will get back to normal. There are problems for cars because some of the access roads are closed for the square, our taxi got a bit lost trying to find the street! There are little shops and quite a few restaurants, the waterfront is lovely. Its easy getting around, the buses are not far and the ferry is really fast. Altogether I can recommend Birgu for a good place to stay whilst in Malta.

If you travel to Malta then Birgu is a great place to stay. You can wander down to the marina and catch a ferry to Valletta or Gozo. You can check out the super yachts and have an inexpensive cocktail at happy hour on the waterfront. There are lots of old buildings to wander around. You can use Birgu as a base to explore other parts of the Maltese Islands, such as the Blue Grotto or the set of the Popeye movie.

I had time to stroll around some of the area with its narrow streets and good views of each part of the harbour. It was refreshingly peaceful and untouched although it is obviously having quite a bit of investment in the properties and streets, which is good to see.

Birgu is a walkable historic city where the Knights of St John first settled in 1530 and is full of interesting buildings such as the Inquisitor's Palace, Fort St Angelo and the Maritime Museum. The parish church on the main square is well worth a visit if open, with a large amount of Knights paraphernalia. There are many good bars and restaurants of all price ranges around the square and on the waterfront by the marina. It is easily reached in 10 mins from Valletta by the 3 Cities ferry found below the Barrakka lift, whereas the bus connections take much longer.

I have had fantastic help and advice back & forth from the owners for anything we have needed to know. Great transfers organised by her and lovely Marco! small studio room with enough facilities we needed for a short stay. We had top floor with amazing views of the harbour. Location is central and stunning. very quiet at night time. Reasonable priced.

Birgu is a great location to stay in Malta.

Birgu is a great location to stay in Malta. It is full of history with fabulous Churches, Museums (Maritime and War) and right on the waterfront. Getting to Valetta was easy on the 2 euro water taxis in a few minutes and the Barakia Lift takes you directly to the city.
