As I am a long traveler and I have a lot of comparison points across 6 continents, I have to be honest here: while the breakfast was very good, plenty of options and good balanced, the location itself also very good - airport direct transfer bus leaves you in front of the hotel, the room itself is not that great. compared to the photos, there is a big difference - first of all, the size of the room is significant smaller - I am 1.78 and if I stretch my arms or just jump, I’m hitting the ceiling with my head … the pluming needs serious maintenance as is flooding the bathroom after each shower - room 606. the beds are very comfortable, noting to complain, cleaning is not a problem here, rather the smell of sea weed - but this comes everywhere around the harbor area, and also the lack or noise canceling in the room (you can hear everything that is happening around you). Overall, taking into consideration the location, breakfast and the price, is a good value for your money, maybe I was “lucky” with the pluming, although I have read similar comments.

Facilities were great, very nice location, close to Sliema and Valletta, friendly staff. Only thing that we were missing are package deals to eat at the restaurants (served by a third party).

Took almost an hour to check in due to a group checking in. They kept letting their friends jump in front of us.
Then to compound matters they kept on about their group discounts to the reception team . Hence it took us ages to check in.
The room assigned was not acceptable. The Fridge and phone were not working holes in curtains etc
After deliberating the issue with reception we were given another upgraded room 40 minutes later , which considering my complaint re the 1st Room assigned should have been checked prior to being assigned the 2nd as the bath plug did not work , plus couple of other issues.
Breakfast was a total disappointment too!
Upon arriving to the restaurant
It was clear that the group had mostly left .
Tables were left uncleared with no tables ready to sit at .
The buffet has not been replenished and looked totally uninviting and ransacked.
Then to add insult to injury the bacon was inedible. The Scrambled eggs were so overcooked that they had separated
If you’re thinking of staying here. It’s well worth calling ahead and finding out if there is a group staying during your stay.
The classic sea view rooms require a much needed upgrade. The superior sea view rooms require checking too.
They could benifit from balcony seating too , as rooms beside these upgraded rooms, did have patio furniture.
Just 500 metres from Sliema's bus terminus and Valletta Ferry, The Palace is a 5-star hotel with a rooftop spa with infinity pool overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.

Staff are absolutely fantastic. Our kids ended up ill with chest infections on the second day and I asked could they recommend a doctor. Reception had us an appointment within 5 mins and 10 mins later they were being examined by a doctor located just around the corner. In less than an hour from the request we were back in the hotel with antibiotics for both kids who were much better within a day. Food selection at the buffet is amazing and the staff are so attentive and helpful they were especially good with our young kids. Special shout out to Leonie and Marvin for making mealtime so pleasant and your interactions and kindness with the kids

The place is definitely not touristy, which is great if you want to experience a real local vibe. On the other hand it means that there's not much to do - sights are very limited, as well as dining options. It's a good base to explore Malta if you have wheels. Getting to Gozo was less practical - you'll spend 1,5 hrs each way (including ferry).
