Very nice and calm place on a small island. Close to the bikini beach, kind and helpful staff, although very busy (just two people for the whole place) and thus not available at some moments. Not their fault though.
The breakfast was ok, you get to choose from 4 options, dinners also good, especially local fish.
The snorkeling trip was great.
Thank you guys for making our stay pleasant.

Location is close to the jetty and a 5 minute walk to bikini beach. The owner was friendly and accommodating (unlike the staff). He organized my private boat to Feridhoo for a reasonable rate. This was a last minute request as the public ferry was canceled on account of it being the 1st day of Ramadan. Room had an electric kettle with complimentary tea bags and coffee sachets - nice touch.
Offering a restaurant, Lagoon View Maldives is located in AA Bodufolhudhoo. Free WiFi access is available in the public areas of the property.

Honestly speaking, staff was nice and polite and some sea creatures like nurse sharks and manta rays were visiting the harbour on a daily basis, it was pleasing to watch them. The isle itself is very small, but has some "infrastructure" like gift shops and a tiny hospital. Not so many people, never overcrowded.
Coral reefs around are not impressive, but still alive...

Very nice and friendly staff, who arranged for us to snorkel and where there to help us anytime. The location is very good, close to bikini beach. There is a big bottle of fresh water in the room every day. The chef was very good, we could choose traditional or international food and we loved the fish.
We really enjoyed our stay in Mathiveri, especially in this hotel, we had a lovely holiday here and we can only recommend this hotel.
Facing the beachfront, Captal Beach Villa offers 3-star accommodation in Mathiveri and features a garden, restaurant and bar.

We had fully paid for a 4-night stay at the Captal Beach Villa. However at the time of our stay 2-6 April 2025, the Captal Beach Villa was actually still being developed and rooms were being sold for the Captal Beach Villa when in fact no rooms were available there. We were instead placed at a different nearby (nameless) property that was 3 minutes walk away - this nameless property was also under construction with only 2 rooms ready and nothing else on site - we were placed in one of these two rooms. As Mathiveri island where these properties are located is small with limited accomodation options on short notice, we decided to accept this accomodation for the purpose of not disrupting our travel and only lodged a formal complaint after.
To be very objective, the room at the different property we were placed at was not bad - it was a newly built, clean room with hot water in the shower, a kettle, mini-fridge, hair dryer, air-conditioning, lights etc. Breakfast was also provided on the first day at the main hotel (Captal Island Villa) and on our subsequent 3 days at a newly constructed pavilion where guests from different properties on the island came for breakfast. And the breakfast buffet was decent. However you must be aware of these risks when making a booking for this property: (1) it's a possibility when booking a room at the Captal Beach Villa that you will NOT be accommodated at the Captal Beach Villa as advertised, but at an alternative property (2) both the Captal Beach Villa and the alternative property are under development and not completed - both are still nameless as of 6 April 2025 and have no signage outside either property to even indicate that they are hotels or guesthouses of any sort (3) the alternative property we were placed at was also being used as a kind of storeroom with no staff based on site and large areas unbuilt, messy and used to store all kinds of things like towels, etc.

Situated in the best place on the island. Peaceful. Stunning setting with beautiful beach and gorgeous blues of the Indian ocean in front of the hotel. Room was very clean.

The location was perfect, just a few steps away from Bikini Beach, making it very convenient for enjoying the sea and relaxing. The host, Imma, was always very helpful, ready to provide excellent tips and organize excursions. The grilled fish dinner cooked by Imma was delicious and definitely one of the highlights of my stay.
The bathroom could have been better maintained. It appeared a bit neglected, and occasionally there was an unpleasant smell. Improving this aspect would greatly enhance the overall comfort of the stay.

The island itself is quiet and small (300 m in diameter, you can go round with paddleboard in 30 minutes, if you stay outer side of the reef), has small number of restaurants and cafes, 2 shops. Go to the port in the evening to see how locals are fishing! People in the island are friendly, it is safe. There is also medical center couple steps from Paguro hotel. The island has new footbal and volleyball playgrounds with artificial grass, they are public. One net is also on the beach.

It has a very nice reef with lots of opportunities for snorkelling and diving in the vicinity. The place is a couple of hours of speed boat ride from the airport. One must plan the flights as the day is lost if arrivals / departures are between 11 am & 4pm

This island has the best house reef (even better than private resort island) and it’s in pristine condition. It has a lovely relaxed vibe. The service in cafes is amazing. Streets are kept so clean and tidy as the locals make the effort of keeping their island beautiful. Bikini beach is private and exclusive and not crowded.

I have never been to Maldives so I do not have any other island to compare with Bodufolhudhoo. From my experience though, I can easily say it was a great mix of local life and tourism. I probably would regret going to a resort and experiencing only the tourist side of Maldives instead of both. Beautiful island, friendly locals, amazing diving spots & great food! :):):)
