Exceptionally friendly and guest-oriented staff. They helped a lot with many minor things during our stay. Local guide Saandu proposes very entertaining and price-worthy trips in the surroundings - sincere recommendation.
Comfortable and clean room. Direct access to the reef but quite far from the bikini beach.

I just returned from a fantastic week at Ecoboo Maldives, and I can honestly say it was an unforgettable experience. When I thought of the Maldives, I imagined it as a place mostly for honeymooners—maybe a bit cliché. But after staying at Ecoboo, I see the Maldives in a whole new way!
Ecoboo is a beautiful, sustainable boutique hotel made mostly of bamboo. The design blends perfectly with nature, and the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. It’s the perfect place for anyone looking for a unique, eco-friendly experience, with a mix of adventure and relaxation.
Excellent Service:
The service was outstanding, and I want to highlight a few people who made my stay extra special:
Mostafa was the one who served me at the table most of the time. He was always friendly and made every meal enjoyable with his warm and attentive service.
Shabeen, Inke, and Aya made every tour exciting! They were full of energy and enthusiasm, and their passion for showing us the island and its beauty made each tour unforgettable.
Luis, who is in charge of guest reception, was always welcoming and helpful. He gave great tips and made me feel at home from the moment I arrived.
Kumara made sure my room was always spotless. He was friendly and took great care of every little detail during my stay.
What sets Ecoboo apart is its focus on sustainability combined with exciting activities. The tours and experiences completely changed my idea of the Maldives—it’s not just about the beach! This is a great place for groups of friends, families, or anyone looking for a more active and engaging holiday.
Lovely island that can be walked around in 20-30 mins.
Lovely island that can be walked around in 20-30 mins. Great sandy beaches, beautiful crystal clear waters, plenty of sea life (fish, rays, turtles, reef sharks etc) that all can be observed from the beach or from your over-water bungalow. One side of the island looks out to open sea and the other side of the islands looks towards neighboring islands in the same atoll. The walk from the room to the reception area or the restaurant or the dive shop are all 5-10 mins (but some rooms are much closer to the facilities such as the beach bungalows). Our room was 501 which was one of the Pool Suites. There are 4 pool suites in total. Room 501 has access to the snorkeling reef and at low tide you can enjoy your own private swimming pool. The staff said that Room 501 was the best of the Pool Suites so ask for this room specifically. The restaurant has an amazing selection of food from many different cultures (Indian, Sri Lankan, Maldives, Japanese, Korean, western cuisine...) and always an abundance of fresh produce, fruits, salads. If you take up the All Inclusive dining package then all meals and drinks - even cocktails by the pool - are included. Also included the mini bar in your room however this is only restocked daily. The facilities are clean, the staff are friendly and always willing to help. The room was cleaned daily and the pool was cleaned every 2nd day. What I really appreciated was the pool cleaner asking me if I wanted to add chlorine to the pool. I opted to NOT add chlorine as the pool water flows over the infinity edge into the reef. Having the pool vacuumed every 2nd day was also not necessary but the staff were happy to assist and wanted to make sure you had a great stay. We visited Velifushi in April 2024 which was lovely weather around 32 Deg C. We had a few brief storms that lasted no more than 10 mins during the early hours of the morning but the daytimes were great weather. Highly recommend Velifushi to you.
