Casa Miura Hotel Boutique has a garden, shared lounge, a terrace and bar in Ajijic. There is free private parking and the property features paid airport shuttle service.

We left immediately after arriving. The tranquil atmosphere in the lobby was promising. But the rooms turned out extremely small with a bed so small two adults can impossible sleep on it. Ventilator wasn’t working! There was loud music of one of the other guests, the hotel personnel did not say anything of it. All rooms are very close to each other and therefore there is absolutely no privacy. Since we booked only one hour before arriving, but had expected a little flexibility of the owner. But he refused any form of refund and told us to arrange something with Booking. I would strongly advise everyone not to go here. It’s totally overpriced for what it offers and poor service of the owner.

Hotel Boutique Sol y Luna SPA features an outdoor swimming pool, garden, a terrace and restaurant in Ajijic.

Breakfast every morning was very good. The receptionist was very accommodating - she even supplied me with a hair dryer and a steamer for my clothes. Plenty of hanging space for clothing. The wait staff were friendly and accommodating. The hotel had an art show in the lobby on a Sunday that featured local artists. In the evening, they brought in several singers/musicians and was great fun.

Hotel Villas Ajijic, Ajijic Chapala Jalisco in Ajijic features 4-star accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, a garden and a terrace.

The breakfast was very well cooked although we were disappointed because the first morning we received cereal, fruits and yoghurt as one would expect for a normal hotel breakfast but not for the remaining 3 mornings - the only option was bacon, eggs & toast. The location was very good and especially convenient to the bus route into Ajijic central. We really liked the swimming pools which were especially relaxing after returning from a long hot day of walking in the heat, and the gardens were beautiful.

The town is very quaint with numerous typically Mexican shops, restaurants and artesanias (handcraft). The Tuesday and Wednesday markets were wonderful and we found the Mexican people generally very friendly and helpful. This was our second visit to Ajijic and we would certainly recommend it as a first choice for anyone wanting to experience village life not too far from Guadalajara.

We were visiting friends who recently moved to Ajijic from the USA. It’s a very lovely quiet town. Lot’s of ex-pats there is a huge ex-pat facility with tons of activities and information to make the transition fairly smooth. We found it a bit too quiet. The lake is beautiful but unfortunately it is not swimmable. But I could imagine kayaking or paddle boarding would be great. Very few boats. Beautiful Malecón with a number of restaurants overlooking the lake. We felt very safe. Super convenient with large grocery stores and everything else you might need. Easy walkable and driving. Great restaurants.

This town is on Lake Chapala and has been a bit of an artist's colony since the 1950's. Quiet and charming, as a retirement age woman I always felt safe even at night. There seems to be a respect here for everyone. And beauty even in the sidewalks. Sidewalks: the streets are paved with cobblestones that might be difficult for folks with mobility issues. I visited over Thanksgiving weekend, which coincided with the Festival of Saint Andrew, which was both wonderful (I love church bells! and processions) and a challenge (firecrackers).

Getting around can be a bit of a problem.

Getting around can be a bit of a problem. You have to take the buses that go to Chapala. If you want to go to Guadalajara, you have to take the Guadalajara bus that leaves about every 45 minutes. And the roads are clogged with traffic. Maybe 80 years ago it was an idyllic little settlement. But today, as with many other parts of Mexico, there's just too much traffic congestion. Lots of Canadian and US retirees reside in Ajijic, and they tend to keep themselves busy in various ways -- operating weekly street markets, running bridge tournaments, and the like.

The hotel was a short walk into the centre of Ajijic along the lakeside path. The room was a good size with plenty of storage space. The second bed was located on a mezzanine accessed by a spiral staircase. The hotel rooms surrounded an attractive garden with usable garden furniture, making for a very tranquil location. The staff were very welcoming and, even better, a welcome drink was provided on arrival. Parking was readily available in the street outside.

Warm welcome by the staff! Beautiful garden and very nicely decorated hotel. The room is spacious, kept in style with colourful details. With the bathroom, hot water, tv, wifi, chairs, table and a fridge we were all set and happy. We were provided with a card to open the gate and park our car so we could enter and leave as we pleased.

The hotel was clean, cosy and very homey. A really lovely stay, with a home cooked breakfast that was great. I have food allergies and I'm vegan and they were very helpful and accommodating. The pool and garden area is lovely and the rooms are well looked after and lovely.

Beautiful property with great views. Close to Ajijic village, yet peaceful. The four dogs on the property made it feel very much like home.
