The hotel is well located to access Chichén Itza and Ik Kil Cenote, easy to taxi to the sites for MXN 100.
The pool was a welcome bonus later in the day to cool off.
The rooms are fairly basic and a bit dated, reminded us of Mexico 30 years ago, but clean and everything we needed for one night.
The eggs at breakfast were the tastiest we’ve had at a buffet in a while.
Situated on the main street of the charming village of Pisté, this renovated colonial-style hotel is less than 1.5 km from the famous Chichen Itza ruins.

We had a house with kitchen and garden and two bathrooms plus additional toilet at our disposal and were very happy with our stay. Private parking and a quiet neighbourhood. It was the perfect place for us - we could prepare our own breakfast and dinner after a long day out. We loved it and would go back any time.

Over all the stay was great, hacienda was beautiful staff was not the best customer service! Waiters were great receptionist were not attentive perhaps they made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome! Would I go again yes! Hacienda was beautiful, and I will definitely go back just because of the comfort, and I would like to spend more time to enjoy the pool and peaceful feeling. I would also go back to try the spa, si ce I didn’t have the time. If I go back and I receive the same customer service from receptionists might go to another spa!

Unfortunately, whoever administers the Chichen Itza archeological site has made the unfortunate judgment to permit vendors on the grounds. This has created a circus atmosphere that is simply terrible. When we visited in 2002 the vendors were restricted to the parking lot, which make the experience in the ruins much better. We visited Edzna on this trip, and there was not a single vendor at the site. We also visited Ek Balam, and there were only five or six vendors permitted just at the entrance. I realize that Chichen Itza is the big draw, so if you have never been be sure to get there just as they open so you can get out well before the buses arrive.

Get there early to avoid the lines.
Get there early to avoid the lines. Car Parking a bit confused, I used on of the private spots on the way to Chichen Itza its about a 5 minute walk, surprisingly it was only 80peso compared to the very crowded official one at 160 peso.
the monuments are in exceptional condition. There are many official guides but unless you want a very detailed tour I wouldn't bother. The massive number of souvenir sellers detracts from the site, they are all basically sell the same stuff. However unlike other parts of the world they aren't pushy.

Get there early and head to the Osuary complex so you can have it all to yourself. Most people go the other way. The night show was cool, but not required, the daytime is a requirement for every explorer!

Stay in Valladolid and drive-- or better yet stay in Piste- and walk to the ruins and get there when they open at 8am. On the Sunday morning we arrived at 830am, there were less than 25 people that we could see-- total-- and no vendors yet. Our photos of the main pyramids have literally zero other people in the background, and we saw lots of colorful birds and enjoyed the empty grounds.
By the time we left at 11:30am, there were 3 or 4 thousand people there, mostly arriving on tour buses from Cancun, and the vendors were aggressive and noisy and it was less appealing of a destination. YES get there as early as possible.

Always impressive to visit but too crowded and touristy the last couple of times. The parking lot was only available for tour vans and buses so struggled outside to find a parking spot. Had to walk 600 meters to get to the ticket booth. Next time I'd go as early as they open to avoid crowds, heat and parking issues.

Comfortable room and bed. Excellent location just few minutes drive from Chichen Itza. The hotel is very basic but good value for money. Hotel provides free dinks in the fridge, including water, juice, and soft drinks.
Really nice and confortable hotel in the middle of the jungle. Perfect location if you want to be among the first visitors in Chichen Itza (7min drive from the hotel)
