Excellent location minutes away from the centre of town. The rooms are large with firm beds. Clean in an old fashioned way - with the paper ribbon over the toilet. Air conditioner actually worked and quiet - I’ve stayed in ibis and Marriott in mexico where it didnt. Only downside - the wifi is spotty and mostly didn’t work on the 8th floor.

When we arrived i confirmed i was able to park in front of the hotel, the staff all said yes. At 9pm i got a call to my room while my wife and i were sleeping, demanding i come move my car.
When i got outside, frustrated, they had me move like literally 3 feet upward towards to building and then parked another car behind me, which i had to wait 20 minutes for someone to move to let us out in the morning.
Everything else was good but forcing a client out of bed on a busy travel day is disrespectful, and i was not impressed.

Overall, a very nice hotel with friendly and efficient staff. I will certainly be back in March 2025. The addition of a pub / dining room for evening dinner would be a great upgrade, but I do understand that this is not easy to do.

I love the beautiful antique style (Gothic) churches and Guadalajara has many many churches, starting with the Cathedral of Guadalajara and the Templo Expiatorio del Santisimo Sacramento. All the other churches are amazing too like Dos Templos (Templo de San Francisco de Asis and Parroquia de Nuestra Senora de Aranzazu). I visited the Sanctuario de los Martires de Cristo Rey on the hill. Amazing, still ongoing construction. It's not finished yet but you can get there cheaply on the train. The train is great and cheap and super convenient. Food can be relatively cheap if you know how. Buy raw food and cook it yourself or have a Torta Loca. It's 80 to 90 pesos but it's so big that you can eat half for lunch and half for dinner!!!! Cheap and easy food to make DIY is shrimp and eggs. I had lunch and dinner on 40 pesos of shrimps along with 14 pesos for 2 bolillo loafs!!!! I also enjoyed the trip to lake Chapala on 80 pesos bus ride from Central Vieja.

Guadalajara is the second largest city in Mexico and is filled with attractions. The Cathedral is the center of he city and our hotel was within a 10 minute walk. We ate several of our dinners at a restaurant across a park from the Cathedral to the N. (Los Ilustres). There are any number of worthwhile museums to visit (look for paintings by Orozco). The suburb city of Tlaquepaque is a delightful place to explore. We took Uber rides wherever we wanted to go from place to place. For those interested in history the Indian site of Guachimontones is well worth the excursion.

Beautiful traditional old building in the heart of Guadalajara, easy walking distance to everything yet in a quiet location. Our room was lovely especially with the private terrace space. Elvia at the hotel is so friendly and so helpful, we felt that she really wanted us to enjoy our stay and worked hard to ensure it.
The hotel was in a good location, and the rooms were ok. The door staff were very friendly and helpful.
They let me store my suitcase for a while after I checked out which was much appreciated.
The location is good. Just a few blocks from Centro Plaza.
We love Real Maestranza and this is our go to hotel in Guadalajara. We love the free underground parking at the hotel. The staff are very kind and helpful. The facilities are good.
