The hostel is located in a quiet and peaceful area. I love the minimalistic design in the main area. Loved having a mosquito net over the bed. The bathroom and shower is gorgeous:-) The best part is the staff. They are very knowledgeable about all the cenotes. They recommended me two of them, and I had an unforgettable experience.

If you are traveling through the Yucatan and Homun is an option, we highly recommend this gem of an urban oasis. Ever and his wife are exceptional hosts. Dining is can be done in their small open dining hall or you can be served on the terrace in the "concourse"/ terrace located in the relatively newly build lodging buildings. We choose the latter for both breakfast and dinner and were rewarded with two of the most memorable days and nights of our two week tour that also included stays in Merida, Maxcanu, Celustun, Uxmal, Tekax, Isamal, and Valladolid. On four previous trips we have stayed in many small villages and towns throughout the states of Yucatan and QR and this stay at Quinta YaaxBe will always remain one of our fondest memories. The evenings are simply gorgeous with the landscaping and lights.
Ever and his wife provided spectacular service and conversation as well. His background in vacation resorts and cruise ships was evident and the food preparation and service was four star imho!
The "Quinta" (estate) is wonderful and the family working the grounds provides both fresh edibles, sustainability, and wonderful gardens with pathways.

I had seen so many positive reviews of this property and booked based on those reviews but being in person exceeded my expectations. From the moment you walk into the main building to the moment you unpack in your suite, you discover all of the fantastic design details that set this hotel apart from so many others. It is a gorgeous property and the ceilings in the suites are surprisingly high, making the room feel more spacious. With such friendly service, a wonderful daily breakfast and the unique, evolving three course dinner menu you are served, you feel like you're at someone's home given how few other guests there are.
Pro trip: get up at sunrise as the symphony of bird songs is truly magical. There are dozens of birds on the property, most of which you don't see but you can definitely hear them.

Homun is a small town with developing facilities that is at the center of the Ring of Cenotes - there are 20 or more either within or close to town limits.
It's fairly quiet and not much to do except visit the Cenotes.
One of the better places to stay is Hotel Santa Maria - it has a good restaurant, bottomless coffee refills, and a pool.

Adjust your expectations. Staying at Cabañas Santa Cruz feels more like a glorified tent camping rather than room lodging. Other the the Church building, there are not a lot of things to do in Homún, it’s mainly cenotes.
