Everything about this place is great. Cozy little cabins nestled right near the shore. The staff were so nice and helpful to make sure I had everything I needed. They even helped me set up for a quick video call that I had. Would totally recommend.

I had a four night stay. The weather is extremely humid and hot. I wish the fan was a lot stronger. Since it was difficult to sleep at night with the heat. Staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. They had great recommendations of the area. It is a little walk up the road from the main road on an incline. Access to the beach is a five minute walk from the cabins.

Loved our stay! The rooms are spacious, with coffee makers and fridges and lovely big showers. Hot and cold water, great pressure. Every room has a small patio area with seats and a hammock too.
The bathrooms are only swing doors so bear that in mind (but the patio and hammock makes it easy to give each other privacy).
Would book again in a heartbeat, love this place

The beach is excellent, and so is the central town area.
it's less hippy and traveler than it used to be and more gay couples

I think it is important to note that I was here during the New Year’s holiday time. While I was there I would say that 95% of the people I saw were ages 25-30 and most were coming to Zipolite to party, hook up, and have a good time. I’m just turning 40 and was hoping for a bit more relaxation than what Zipo offers, but I think I may have just had different expectations. I did find some GREAT food in town and would highly recommend Afe for dinner (photos attached).

Zipolite is pretty much the only place in Mexico where you can vacation in a relaxed, natural way. On any beach, in many hotels, you can be with or without clothes, and everyone is completely tolerant. This is the first and last island of such freedom in Mexico. The local population is very friendly, and you can quite safely walk around the town and on the beach even at night.

The surf is very dangerous - even when small.
The surf is very dangerous - even when small. There is pretty good lifeguard coverage but it is a long beach and the currents (even those a few meters from the shore) can be tough to swim out of. Knee deep water can become chest deep in seconds.
Zipolite is expensive compared to other places in Mexico.

I love it here.
I love it here. I used to live here back in 2017 and I loved it. The Hurricane a few years ago has removed a lot of the older businesses and replaced them with newer establishments.
It has a bit more of a gay couple vibe now, and less backpacker/hippy, but the beach is still as great as always

Zipolite is very nice and has a nice atmosphere.
Zipolite is very nice and has a nice atmosphere. And if you like nudist beaches this is a welcoming cool place. It also has nice cafés and restaurants and hotels for all tastes and budgets. And don’t forget to visit nearby beach of Estacahuite and San Agustinillo. But be careful, the sea is tricky and has currents. Avoid getting out of your depth, or you risk not being able to swim back…
Casa Sol is a great place to stay, and their restaurant Q is excellent. Yemanya at the beach is a good restaurant and café. El Alquimista restaurant was also good and Mezcaleria Gota Gorda, very good coffee.

This place is amazing, almost paradise… The location is fantastic on top of a lush hill overlooking the beach and the sea… very close to centre and beach of Zipolite and some nice restaurants. It even has a small (almost) private beach! The main café where you have breakfast is really nice and welcoming with seaview. The apartment we were going to stay needed some works so they upgraded us for two bedrooms with amazing views and spatious. The restaurant Q was also exceptional. And the owners and staff were very nice.
Hidden away behind some bushes, there's this small cozy hostel with little teepees. They are spacious enough for two people to fit together comfortably. The kitchen is big enough with everything you might need. A clean bathroom, a super cute dog, surrounded by a lots of green, making the nights very quiet. It's only a 20-minute walk from Zipolite beach, but with a shop and local restaurant around the corner, it is 100% worth the trip
Lovely hotel, with a huge room just a few steps away from the main beach.
The hotel, as the rooms, are very nice, with big and spacious bed, good WiFi and powerful air conditioning.
Under the hotel there are two shops, a nice bar and a great Mezcaleria, as well as a nice little pool, useful after a long day out in the heat.
