Located just 2 minutes' walk from the beach in the quiet Golden Bay village of Collingwood, The Station House Motel offers comfortable accommodation with free Wi-Fi and a courtyard area with BBQ...

It was so quaint! I loved it as central to most places you want to visit. The Hosts were fabulous. I wished I could have stayed longer. I was dropping walkers at the Heaphy Track. Keen to come again to stay longer

There is great scenery to be seen and some good walks nearby. Wharariki Beach is a favourite. Very dramatic rock formations, sea, sand dunes and seals. The Langford store is worth going to. Nice women with lovely homemade things to eat, drink and buy. Good collectables if that's what you like. Quirky and full of character. It is handy to longer and very scenic walks like Abel Tasman and Heaphy. I think some increased range of eating for vegetarians would be good. The Court House Cafe is particularly good for daytime food and coffee. The general store has most of what you need at reasonable prices. The Takaka Hill is a nice drive as long as you are a careful driver. Some clearly are not. Great views.

Didn't get too much time for touring.

Didn't get too much time for touring. Would recommend to see Fairwell Spit use the tour bus across the road from the motel. You can drive there by car but not on sealed roads. The Cave café at the top of Takaka hill is a must - amazing views and a cave as well (take a coat). Interesting small museum in just across from the motel with photos of the early town and the major fire that destroyed it. The birds sleeping on the shoreline at high tide was quite a sight as well.

Nothing to not like. Everything great, except for the drive.

Nothing to not like. Everything great, except for the drive. Did not realize just how windy the roads were to get to Collingwood. Oh well. Can not have everything. But staff and the locals were very helpful and friendly.

We were only here to go on the guided tour of Farewell Spit, so we only had a cursory look around the town. As with a lot of these small towns facilities are limited, especially for eating out. Likewise, shops tend to shut at 5pm so get any shopping done early in the day.

We adored everything about this place, the view, the chalet, bathroom the breakfast basket delivered the night before. We cooked on the bbq quite a bit too. Loved we could do laundry freely after 5pm. The owners and staff were all super lovely too. It was spotlessly clean and really felt 5 star. We also really liked the area close to collingwood and farewell spit.

A healthy and light diy breakfast Close proximity to Collingwood Village to undertake the Farewell Spit day trip and visit Cape Farewell. Outdoor bath amongst nature. Remoteness and adjacent to a lovely Golden Bay beach. The unique experience of staying in a yurt. High quality eco products and linen provided. A holiday from tv and wifi

Our room was in the old police station, a lovely old building in a very nice setting, and just off the beach. It was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed for an enjoyable visit to Collingwood and the north. A friendly welcome and lots of useful information from Sylvie. Would definitely recommend

The place location was perfect in a quiet Collingwood. The town has a lots of history and is located in the center of the Golden Bay. There is a short driving distance to Wharariki Beach and Cape Farewell. You can see swimming seals in the Wharariki Beach pools.
