From the moment we arrived, Jane and Doug made us feel utterly welcomed. Their warmth and attention to detail set the tone for our stay—Jane even kindly ironed my suit for the wedding the next day, a gesture that truly showed how much they cared.
The cottage itself was a handcrafted haven, surrounded by nothing but trees, offering complete privacy and tranquility. Every detail was thoughtfully considered: a fully equipped kitchenette, a luxurious bathroom, and an incredibly cozy bed that made relaxation effortless. The living area was inviting, and the outdoor BBQ space added to the charm.
At night, the darkness enveloped the cottage, revealing a breathtaking canvas of stars—the Milky Way shone brighter than we’d ever seen. The provided blankets made stargazing an unforgettable experience, one we’ll cherish forever.
If you’re visiting the area, this cottage is an absolute must. It’s more than just a place to stay; it’s a memory in the making. We couldn’t have asked for a better prelude to our friends wedding day. Thank you, Jane and Doug, for such a magical experience!

Amazing house. It was a delight for our family to spend time in this place. Obviously a very well lived house in all the right ways. Beach at the end of the street, one of the best cafes we found in all NZ just around the corner. Breathtaking scenery around the area and a cozy open fireplace to come home and sit around discussing plans for the next day's activities. Our family fell in love with the property. Lots of double beds and 2 kitchens. Can't recommend this place enough. We'll be back. Turnbull Family from Brisbane Australia 🦘

Amazing host. Great location, and a superb breakfast, including coffee.
Location was good.
House was really warm and comfortable.

House was really warm and comfortable.
A long drive into the property, if cat was low to the ground this would of been difficult.
But property was advertised for four people, it slept four, but the lounge area was only adequate for two. We were lucky the weather was nice, if it had been wet we would have been sitting on one another’s shoulders/laps to watch the TV.
