The host greeted us and made us feel at home right away. The amenities were excellent, and the laundry machine was just what we needed mid-way through our trip to New Zealand. The gardens were beautiful, and the room was spacious and comfortable. I would come back and stay here again in a heartbeat if I am ever in the area.

Such a great spot to spend a couple of nights exploring the beautiful Takaka and Golden Bay area. Nat was such a wonderful host and helped us to engage with and learn about her delightful alpaca family members.

When you come out of pupu springs rd turn left and go to the pupu hydro tailrace track. not to be missed. Before walking the track go to the power station and read about it. you will get a much better understanding if you do this before the walk also suggest you do the walk clockwise

I loved every minute in this welcoming, peaceful, loving hippie community! Check out the notice board in town and attend events with the locals-- it's worth it! I was able to hitchhike all over Golden Bay, no problem! There are so many beautiful hikes and nature spots in the area. Also, stop in for a yoga class in town! Next to the studio, there's a smoothie place called Mermaid Beach House. Tell the owner, Amba, that a girl named Jenna sent you! Everything she makes is divine! I can't wait to go back!

Great little town with a lot to do around it.
Great little town with a lot to do around it. Try to visit the Labarith caves and smaller walks around the area. Most of the shops and galleries are shit on Saturday and Sunday. It has a large supermarket and great places to eat.
This is the main base area for the Heaphy walk.

A beautiful peaceful place.
A beautiful peaceful place. Well located for visiting Golden Bay, Abel Tasman and the fabulous Farewell Spit tour.
The waterfalls and springs are both beautiful.
If you visit on Mondays there are limited places to eat in the evening, so I would recommend making a reservation.

Very charming town.
Very charming town. Wish we could spend more time to explore shops and cafes. People are very kind and helpful.
We checked in late, but Mohua Motel manager found us units to stay and gave us a discount for the second night. In the morning, we were offered more clean towels in case we would like to go swimming.
We had dinner at Dangerous Kitchen. The food and the atmosphere are awesome.
My husband bought a new pair of shoes he loves at the fishing gear shop. The lady looked into the store room and found a right size for him.

Golden Bay has a lot to offer with quite a few boutique cafes in Takaka, lovely beaches, and interesting natural beauty including Te Waikoropupu Springs which has some of the world’s clearest water. Going further west through Collingwood to Farewell Spit a short walk to Wharariki Beach is well worth the effort.
A beautiful area well worth visiting.

We enjoyed our stay here wish we could have stayed longer though. Our room was just perfect for our needs very clean and tidy. Comfy bed and we sat out on the balcony the day we arrived and watched the suset with a hot cup ot tea. Staff so helpful and gave recommendations on where to eat. Town close to hotel.
It was an awesome staying there. Location is so great that 2minute walk to cafes, bars, super market and lovely artistic stores. So nice place to stay at Takaka after popping on the beautiful golden bay suburb scenery. Highly recommend
Rene and Marianne were the perfect hosts and could not have made us feel any more welcome. We thoroughly enjoyed our time. Takaka is a great base to explore the Golden Bay Area.
