It is a shame we don't get to Te Aroha much.

It is a shame we don't get to Te Aroha much. We use to visit when we were children and it has not changed one bit. I'm talking 45 years ago. I find Te Aroha quiet and it is such a pretty town. We don't stay long to enjoy the activities but we did eat at the local Pub/Restaurant just across from our Motel and they do a great Lamb Shank. Apologies, can't remember the Pub. The Te Aroha Motel is the best.

We like to walk so there is something here for us.

We like to walk so there is something here for us. There was something on at Boyd Park wonderful. Our host suggested a walk over to the Wetlands and we did that what a gem. We had dinner at the RSA. OMGoodness you could eat off the floor there so amazing and the staff and food, cannot say enough. WE will be back and may hire bikes next time for the Hauraki Rail Trail.

Quiet town, but located near some great walks that could take 2 days to enjoy. Private spring baths are a must and also well run by the local council. The visitor information is filled with all the rele=ant material to make the stay enjoyable.

Te Aroha, translated, means Love, and that is what you will find there, especially if your fortunate to visit Sunday service in the Anglican church, and bonus, staying in the Nunne ry, accommodation, mountain trek, is challenging, but worth it, cycle trails , mostly sealed paths easy going, interesting Spa, and museum, good food, many places to eat, river walks, everything you want for a few days passing through.

Scenery, hot pools and mountain walks are the main reasons to visit Te Aroha. Very limited range of accommodation and restaurants, probably more so since covid lockdowns. Disappointing that in the middle of the holiday season most restaurants were closed in the evening.

Te Aroha is a diamond in the rough .

Te Aroha is a diamond in the rough . It posses the only Soda Hot Spring existing in the world! A wonderful experience and privilege to be soaking in water that is so special, a total Must Do! The Estuary Walk was equally amazing as well as the walks up the mountain and the walk to the Waiwiri Waterfall . The town has some excellent cafes and restaurants including the Ironic Cafe with yummy, healthy, vegan food options as well And I lived the Organic shop/cafe where you can get nearly everything under the sun considered natural and wholistic, cute place to sit and relax too.

Check in was very easy, we really appreciated that they stayed past regular reception hours to facilitate a 1.5 hr later check in! As for the actual accommodation, it was clean, tidy well presented rooms. Useful verbal information about the property (inc. wifi code), how to operate switches/ buttons for different appliances and things to do in Te Aroha; the unit had a lock on the door. Thanks again, please send Alfie and Lulu all our love!
