Thank you Madeleine for offering us the early check in and for offering a late check out too. The property was perfect for us, and loved the visiting chickens in the morning. You’re a lovely host.

Originally not knowing what to expect, curiosity caused us to stop off for a coffee break, whilst travelling up to Cape Reinga.
We were so impressed that we booked a night's stay on our return journey, Such is he layout of this unique township, bordering the south bank of the Mahurangi River. With buildings that date back to the late 1800's through to modern,
It is very easy to walk around, there are many cafe's and restaurants scattered amongst a broad range of local businesses including craft, clothing, and a number of Boutiques selling many varied products.
If you are looking for a place to get away from the hustle and bustle of life and just relax in an unique Village/Township. We can easily recommend Warkworth NZ,

I managed to get my hair cut in Warkworth and had an enjoyable time chatting in the hairdressers to locals and got agood cut at Short and Sweet.
The lady at the I Sight information centre was excellent, there are plenty of good places to eat, Bridgehouse, Aldos and Pete and Marys for snacks and breakfast.
There are lovely beaches at Omoha, 20 minutes drive, Snells beach and an interesting village Matakani nearby. Further afield are interesting things to do and there is an interesting historic town walk and Kauri forest walk.
An easy going small town with good shoos, especially the wholefood shop. You van get homeopathic remedies at one place and there is a good launderette.

We were in Warkworth for "Warkworth Walks" a three day weekend of walking around Warkworth and outer regions. A large Annual event unfortunately it is not advertised to the local businesses and many of the shops were closed. This event has been occuring in November for the last 14years and some of the locals are still unaware of it.

Pleasantly surprised by the number of shops, cafe and restaurants including a countdown nearby. Would definitely visit again rather than passing through. The chocolate brown cafe was amazing for breakfast, brunch or lunch. The Warkworth hotel was nice for a drink or meal and the many other restaurants nearby which was nice. Can easily venture up to Matakana or Omaha by driving in around 10 mins which is handy too. Highly recommended !

The location was perfect for us as it ensured we had a restful nights sleep compared with some motels we had been staying in leading up to this. You cannot hear any noise from the hosts house either which can sometimes be a problem in other BnB's we have stayed in. The home baking on arrival is a nice touch, and was delicious. Breakfast options are plentiful and it was faultless. The hosts are lovely and so is there home and gardens. Would definitely stay again if we were in Warkworth.
