Located in the picturesque Canterbury high country, Fable Terrace Downs Resort features all day dining, an 18 hole golf course and a range of outdoor activities.

Beautiful property in the country, very peaceful and picturesque. Bring your food and wine and enjoy a tranquil night or two. It is secluded a bit but has a restaurant for dinner and breakfast, make sure you make a reservation as it can fill up

Gunyah Country Estate in Windwhistle provides accommodations with a garden, barbecue facilities, and a shared lounge.

The host offers the option of a purchased, home cooked and gourmet dinner. I highly suggest you partake, her cooking was divine and the dining room in the home was a lovely space in which to spend an evening.

Located in Windwhistle in the Canterbury Region, 2.1 mi from Mount Hutt, Mt Hutt Lodge features a seasonal outdoor pool and ski-to-door access. The motel has water sports facilities and a ski school.

The setting, perched above the Rakaia Gorge, is spectacular. The rooms look out over the gorge. With no ambient light at night stargazing is incredible. And with all that, the best part of the stay was owners Jo and Butch who were welcoming, positive and supportive with personalized attention to each guest. Butch is a chef and prepared the meals. Jo is a singer / guitarist who performed for patrons at dinner. Very special people.

Washpen Falls offers a hot tub and free private parking, and is within 7.7 miles of Mount Hutt and 22 miles of Mt. Hutt.

Set on a working farm with lovely views across the fields and up the hillside. Really pretty setting and super quiet area. Beds were really comfortable and linens were great - and the place was spotless. Thankful for the extra space heater provided by the host on request as otherwise there was no heat in the bedrooms (and it was too late in the evening to get a fire started to sufficiently heat the space). Shower had surprisingly great water pressure and hot water - major plus!

Offering heated rooms with flat-screen TVs, Abisko Lodge is just a 1-minute walk from Methven and Mt Hutt village center.

Staff super lovely and accommodating. Facilites like Spa and Sauna were great. We had the place to ourselves. Quiet, comfortable. Good location and generous breakfast buffet laid out even though it was just us.

Our Villa at the Resort was fantastic - lots of room, well set up with top notch furnishings and great beds. The bathrooms were amazing too - even came equipped with a Dyson hair dryer. The kitchens were fully equipped, but the best part was the view to the snow covered mountains. It was a very relaxing place to stay and so quiet and peaceful. We did a range of outdoor activities (clay shooting, axe throwing, air rifles) at the Resort with NewZEngland which we also rate highly. We highly recommend a visit - even if you aren't a golfer!

Very nice place. Quiet with amazing views of the mountains. Definitely make a stop or stay here! Beautifull rivers as well. We have seen a lot of flowers and did some nice tracks around here as well. Gorge was beautifull.

Really good place with amazing views and very nice...

Really good place with amazing views and very nice apartments to stay in. But if you dont have anyone to play sport or walk with then theres not much you can do. Clubhouse is closed over half the activity list is inactive including the on-site restaurant. In house entertainment needs updating but PERFECT if you just want to be alone in a quiet, warm and comfy place to put your feet up.
