Location was perfect with easy access to Bocas town, but quaint enough to be away from the party scene. Breakfast was really good and great service. Rooms were clean and comfortable.

This place is so idyllic. True island character. Simple yet quality. A sense of style in many touches.Best beds! And sheets were cotton! Or at least 50%. Beautifully situated on the shore. Staff so friendly and warm and helpful. Enjoyed the tranquility, remote feeling, and the walk to Playa Estrella.

Beautiful in every way with fine design, gorgeous location, fresh gourmet cuisine and wonderful owners and staff. We loved waking up and stand up paddle boarding on the pristine bay and exploring the nearby coves. The minute you pull up to the resort via boat, you know that you are in a special place.

The owner is very welcoming and super nice so is the staff, plus the location can't get better because you are away from the noise during the weekends in Bocas and yet close to anything on the main island.

it depends what people are looking for. Its good as a starting point for day trips, but don't book via street vendors, I got ripped off. The town is crowded, the main road was dug up, but never fixed, when it rain's it's a mess. There are a few nice clothing stores. The food was mostly fried. There are a few nice hotels, I walked into one, it was a dive center. Its better to stay on one of the many islands.

The weather was sunny and warm.
The weather was sunny and warm. The taxi boats to beautiful islands were convenient. Red frog beach and Zapatillas beaches were beautiful! The water was warm. The people were friendly. We saw sloths ,monkeys, red frogs, starfish and dolphins. There were plenty of restaurants, grocery stores and bars. A week in Bocas del Toro was fun, relaxing and enjoyable!

The best part of Isla Colon was the wildlife around our accommodation which was near the junction, a couple of km out of the town centre. Could have easily spent more time there just relaxing.
Don't visit Starfish Beach for the starfish - there are only a few there these days. It is now over-run with tourist shacks/stalls. Nice spot for a still water swim and the trail in from Drago Beach is a nice walk (about 1km).
Bluff beach has a terrible "road" out to it full of potholes and rough but easy enough to pick your way through on a rental motorbike. The beach is OK with surf pounding in that seems rough and unpredictable with a couple of rips there that would be dangerous to be caught in. I wooudn't swim there and I have been body surfing for more than 50 years.
Italian restaurant near the junction is very good.
Isla Bastimentos was great except for the rainy weather. Good wildlife along the track to Wizard Beach - sloth, capuchin monkeys, lots of birds. Also a nice beach.

Not much to do here other than 2 basic ponga excursions that everyone offers, eating, and drinking. If that's your goal then you will like it. Not very walkable town. Many blocks of the main street were torn up and under construction. If you are looking for beaches you will need to travel out of Colon to find them.

We were excited to visit Bocas del Toro but found it a bit underwhelming. Some of the locals weren't as warm as we had anticipated. Having traveled through Asia, where the hospitality is exceptional, the contrast with Bocas felt a bit disappointing. We also found the cost of food, scooter rentals, and accommodation to be on the higher side. On a positive note, we did enjoy a few days at the beach, though unfortunately, the surf wasn't great while we were there.

I had been there previously, but to another area where I walked around all the time. Here it seemed that the taxi was the way. I think it is a really great place to visit. Houses are right on the water and you look out and it is relaxing. We were there at a slower time. We went to one restaurant and there were only 2 other customers and we had to wait a very long time for the taxi they called. It is a simple flight from Panama City. Our host Angie arranged a tour of the chocolate farm of the indigenous people and that was very interesting and included a boat ride from Bocas Town to another island.

This family run accommodation is amazing value for money with two kitchens, friendly & very helpful staff and right on the water with its own pier for water taxi collection. The accommodation has lots of tables and hammocks for relaxing and is very close to local restaurants and a small supermarket. It is a beautiful 20 minute walk through the jungle to get to Wizard beach and a short water taxi to Red Frog beach and Isla Colon.
The breakfast was very good and prepared nicely. The location was nice, away from the busy area and on the water, we enjoyed listening to the kids play in the afternoon hours when the sun was setting.
Amazing calm place, built right on the water with a beautiful view and a little private beach... the hostel is very tiny (only 2 dorms with 4 beds each i think). Martha is also very nice!
