Honestly, for the price you can't beat this place. It has a great location, super nice beach area, a small kitchen you can use, and comfy room.

I booked a room at the Andres Hotel, mainly because of a train ride.
I was thinking of going for one day from PANAMA CITY to Colon, by train with the Panama Canal Train.
Unfortunately, I found out that this train is inactive since the Corona.
If the train ride is not yet available,
Or if you are not going to visit around Colon, and are not interested in the duty free zone, then you can skip Colon. I was warned by the locals, to be careful
If you decide to visit Colon, stay at the ANDRES Hotel

Colon is not a nice city and I cannot recommend it to others. I felt very threatened there. It is dirty and noise, huge amounts of litter everywhere. Huge numbers of homeless and mentally ill people living on the street.
I could not find anything to visit. There are very few restaurants that cater for tourists. I just wanted to leave.

Colon is a great city, the one I was born in.
Colon is a great city, the one I was born in. Although a little rundown in some areas, mainly the center, the outskirt of the city has a better appearance. Overall, the people are very warm and appreciate visitors coming into their city

See reviews by guests who stayed at hotels in Colón
The hotel was located just in front of the port where cruise ships dock. Ideal for staying over night if leaving on the cruise.
Colon is an ugly city, but the neighborhood of the hotel was nice and safe. A lot of shops around and there is a massive construction going on where they are building new shops at the port.
