I normally stay in Casa Congo on the other side when I arrive to Portobelo , but during these dates , my preferred rooms were not available so that chose to stay at belo bay that offered a well decorated and specious room with a nice balcony , convenient bad and well equipped room with ac and bathroom. We stayed there 3 days traveling to isla Mamay, Isla Grande and around. Owners are very welcoming and leaving next door so they can assist if anything is needed. Great experience for a good value

Luzmila and the rest of the staff were fabulous! My friend who doesn’t speak much Spanish wasn’t feeling so well, and they took such good care of her! We had a “chalet” or cabin on the waterfront with incredible views and a great hammock. Beds were comfortable. Clean. Food was good. Taxi to town at $1.50 - $4.

Great common area and views are amazing. Staff was great,shared kitchen was well stocked with pots/dishes, could see wild monkeys off in the trees..

This is a jungle lodge, not a luxury resort. Nevertheless, the facilities are spacious and comfortable. The rooms have air conditioning units, which you can turn on as needed, or open the doors to enjoy the view and wildlife. The owners, a French couple, provide a delicious breakfast, and dinners if you request in advance. Franck has coordinated with locals to provide optional daytime excursions at reasonable prices. Our first full day, we took an arranged boat excursion to local islands, including Isla Grande which has restaurant choices for lunch.. Our second day, we took an arranged jungle hike and climb. We highly recommend both. We saw and heard lots of wildlife, which was our main reason for visiting this area of Panama.

Everything was wonderful. Our apartment was large, comfortable and looked out over the beautiful bay. Breakfast was included and wonderful. We also dined here one night for dinner and had cocktails. Everything was delicious and fresh. We did several activities with the hotel but the percussion class at La Escualita de Ritmo was the highlight. Portobelo is rich in history, culture and beauty. The town is warm and welcoming. I highly recommend staying at Casa Congo.
