My stay at Maitai Lapita was an absolute highlight of my French Polynesia trip. The hotel and bungalows are beautiful and have a very authentic feeling to them. The little beach and restaurant have the best views of sunset over Raiatea and breakfast was great. What made is most amazing was the extremely hospitable staff, especially Vaea, who was extremely helpful and organized very special activities for me. Her kindness and warmth will stay in my memory and I would love to come back one day :)

Great host, with good energy, who picked me up from quay.
His accommodation was only 10 minutes away.
I slept in a tent with a very good, firm mattress. Not soft.
In the afternoon it can be hot in the tent, so this makes it difficult to do a nap.
A camping stove is available, so this was very welcomed.
Onside a nice relaxing beach, where you can enjoy the water with paddling, just swimming or gaze at the ocean.
During the night this area was quiet.
Bathroom is near the house and supplies cold and hot water.
He knows where to get good food, and cheap transport.
A mosquito net may be handy next time.
I really recommend this place.

Good place! A lot of space. Very nice view and tye garden. You will need a car because it’s a bit far from the beaches, shops etc but you can rent it from the lady for very good price! She was amazing, very helpful and nice. Thank you!

The beach in front of the house is probably one of the best on the island for swimming. It’s gorgeous and a popular place among the villagers, too, and I loved watching all the activity. Matairea and his wife are wonderful hosts. While they shared their apartment with me I had perfect privacy in my room. I spent a lot of time in the garden looking at the lagoon.
