It would be good if breakfast was included given the high rates charged for the rooms per night. I was disappointed breakfast wasn't included with the accommodation. I mostly likely to book in a hotel that includes accommodation with breakfast next time I am in POM

Despite the various overhyped negativity painted by the media daily, the city is actually safe, friendly and can be enjoyable.
Accommodation-wise, for high budget travelers, Stanley Hotel, Airways, and Hilton are recommended. Loloata Island resort is also a luxurious choice. Medium ranged budget travelers can opt for Ela Beach Hotel, Gateway Hotel & Apartments, Holiday Inn apartments or one or the premier rooms.
Airways, Hilton and Stanley hotels have delicious menus of local and international dishes served on breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets daily. As well as that, the Vision City mega mall, Rangeview mall, or Waterfront or Foodworld shops have variety of fresh and processed food choices available for those that prefer cooking their own meals. The Boroko or Gordans main markets are your choice for fresh local produce.
Local taxis are generally preferred cheap mode of transport from point, otherwise it is recommended to get a hire car and driver (if you are not familiar with the city roads). A general Google search can list down various hire car services. Depending on type of vehicle, daily rates average around AUD$150/day for a decent car.
Again, despite the continuous bad portrayal of the city and its residents, it is in fact much more safer than assumed. The locals tend to not bother tourists/visitors as much, however there are a few bad apples here and there (as you would expect from a rapidly growing city rife with uncontrolled urban drift and population growth), hence to be on the safe side, avoid walking on foot around specific suburbs (Erima, Gordons, Morata) at night.

Lovely place public transport is not recommended for people who are COVID-19 conscious, very over crowded and most people do not observe the niupla pasin. Advise to get your own hire vehicle or clean taxi's

Stanley Hotel I think the best located and awesome hotel, however double check if they are prepared to take you to the airport, specifically the APEC terminal at Jacksons International, at a super expensive rate and booking a suite one would expect the Hotel to bring you to your port of departure by plane.
we stay there often and never had this problem, this time they refused, and the duty manager was of zero help and told us to arrange our own transport. for this reason I might never book there again and let my connections at Tabubil know as we all have to use the APEC terminal.

The general genuine friendliness of the Papua New Guinea people Is great. Like all cities in the world it has its criminal element which tends to spoil PNG on the whole. The different cultures of the people is fascinating.

The room and hotel was actually very well. The way it was secured, and the friendlynes of the staff.
Also the unique location was perfect. Next to several malls.
The prices was lower than many other big hotels, but still in general to high if you compare this for the price you expect more quality for this amount of money.
